September 2012 Moms

4:30 AM, every day, like clockwork.

My bladder has become like an alarm clock. This is just like first tri all over again. It now will take me about an hour to fall back asleep, if not a little more. And then I have to be up by 6:30 to start my day. Woohoo! :)

Anyone else? Awake?

ETA: And if for any reason I miss out on the 4:30 bathroom break, like my body lets me sleep through, then it wakes me up at 6:30. And this is only on "late start" days where I could have slept until 8 or so. *facepalm*

  • Ditto! It is so predictable at this point I don't even consider falling right back to sleep as an option for myself. Ugh...

  • My usual times are 1:30 and 5:30. Today though, I'm joining the 4:30 party.  I gave up sleep because my hips just couldn't take me laying on them any more.  Someday we won't have to pee 1000x a day and always sleep on our sides, right??

In other news, I had my first contraction last night (BH or otherwise).  I've wondered if I'm having BH at times or if it is just LO pushing and moving.  But last night I had a real, honest-to-goodness BH.  I know they don't mean much, but it is a comfort to know that my ute can figure out how to contract.  The closer we got to my due date without any, the more I started to wonder if my ute needed remedial contraction classes to prep for the big day.  Ah the joys of being a paranoid FTM. :)

  • I woke up at 3am this morning to pee, and tossed and turned for a bit trying to get back to sleep.  Then the BH started up and they are starting to hurt really bad.  Needless to say, I fell asleep again at about 6am, and the alarm went off at 645 for me to get because it is DS1`s first day of grade two!!  THankfully DH is working late today, so after we take him to the first day of school, I am going back to bed!

  • Yup! I'm actually happy when I wake at 4:15 ish and not 5. At least then I have some awake time and then get a chance to go back to sleep. Luckily DD sleeps til about 8:30.

I wish I slept better the rest of the night though! This is my 3rd wake up since 11!

  • I get up pretty much every hour these days... it sucks!

  • Yep. Me too.  I wake up around two and have to pee but can usually go right back to sleep. Then I'm up anywhere from 330 to 4 and I have to pee and I'm hungry so I have a bowl of cereal, surf the web or watch a little tv then back to bed.  Now that I'm off work I sleep until 7 ish.

I can't wait to hold my son in my arms but I also am excited to sleep on my back! I wake up and my whole side I've been sleeping on is swollen and so sore!

  • I think I'd just dropped back to sleep after being awake for 1.5hours when you woke up. Every night, around 3-4am I'll be up and awake for a good hour before I fall back to sleep. It doesn't help that DH snores and twitches in his sleep which stops me from sleeping too.
  • For me, it's 2:30 and 5am. I can usually get back to sleep after the first time, but when I get up to pee at 5 it's all over. I just lie in bed and toss and turn until 6:30/7, at which point I give up and get up.  Ugh- I feel exhausted all the time now.

  • I'm definitely one of the lucky ones I guess because I wake up once to pee a huge amount, then fall back asleep within minutes. DS sleeps with us & is a really light sleeper, so any more pee breaks would wreck our night. I love that my bladder understands this & cooperates accordingly.
