I took it for to see how closely it would match me to my party and candidate. Not surprisingly I matched 93% with the candidate I will be voting for. DH fancies himself as a supporter of the other main party and I don't think his party represents his views well. I sent him the test thinking it might show him he leans more in my direction than he thinks. Well his guy got an 82% and my guy got an 80% on his test. I was 2% away from some serious gloating and possibily changing his stubborn mind.
Do you and your SO have the same political affiliations?
DH's parents always ensure they vote the same to ensure their votes don't "cancel one another out". I strongly disagree with this rationale.

Yes we are of the same mind, but DH is jaded and so he is much more to the left. As far as I'm concerned it is nobody's business whom I vote for once I'm in the poll. I am willing and enjoy talking to people about people about politics.
How do your DH's parent's determine who they vote for? Do the flip a coin? Take turns.
My ex and I were on opposing sides we voted our personal beliefs. We had a lot of good debates and still do. He is willing to hear my said of things and visa versa.
It put me as pretty centrist, with dem leanings. DH was a republican and I was apolitical until I started grad school. It wasn't that I didnty care--I just never liked any candidate enough to give them my vote until the last presidential election.
Once I became more political, I basically turned DH into a democrat.
My Dh is pretty indifferent about politics which is rather ironic because his father is a member of town government and a representative in the Mass. Democratic Council. He believes in the same policies that I do but is not really passionate about any of it.
He does vote though because I would KILL him if he didn't.
His parents are good enough people but they are not intellectuals and their worlds are very small. I suspect they vote straight tickets aka by party lines unless it is a big local issue that they care about. Religion also influences their vote. MIL micromanages the process and sometimes I think it would be awesome for FIL to walk into the booth and vote the opposite in retaliation for her oppression.
I'm not saying that anyone who votes by party lines or in regards to their faith lacks intellect or are small minded. These specific people however do lack the analytical skills and ambition required to assess global issues on their own.
I'm pretty sure my DH is more liberal than I am, he considers himself a socialist, like a real one, not a fake "american socialist".
It is funny though because his dad is so Republican. My parents are decently Republican, my mom thinks everybody she votes for has to be Christian because she trusts them more....
I was a little disappointed I only matched with my party at 93%. I thought I was more hardcore! :-)
