Was listening to Ray LaMontagne the other day and this song came on. WDYT?

Re: Jolene?
I think it is a good song and a pretty name for a pretty girl who other girls will probably be jealous of and think will steal their man
No really - I do like it. It's a bit too "southerny" for my taste but I do like it.
Young and in Love.

Hate it.
Enjoy the song from time to time, but the association of a home wrecking whore character in a song ruins the name for me. I can't say if I would have liked it otherwise though.
"I'm beggin' of you please, don't take my man...."
It's a little too country for my taste. It's also pretty dated.
Never heard the song, but IRL DS #1 godparents split after he had an affair and fathered a child with woman named Jolene, who happened to be her coworker... I wish I was making it up.
If that was not the case, I would say it is a lovely name
I forgot there was also a Dolly Parton song by the same name. Hmm... not as good of connotations with that song! FWIW, this is the song I was referring to:

Sounds like mixed reactions either way. Not married to the name, just thought it sounded kind of pretty in the song.

I like it. I know 3 Jolenes- none of the 3 are trailer trash, whorish, or country.
I think it's pretty and under-used!
Yes. Listen to the Dolly Parton song and then think about if you still like it.
As much as I like the name, I could never name our daughter Jolene or anything close, because everyone would be singing to her.. Like I'm singing right now.
Haha, wrong song. The Ray LaMontagne "Jolene" is a different song from the Dolly Parton song. I love both the songs. I can't say I like the name. It's way too country for me.
