being induced today not due till the 25th

Sooo I went to my doc today for my 37 week check up and I was told LO is not getting what she needs from the umbilicol cord. She is tiny and they are going to induce her so she can get the nutrients she needs outside the womb!! Nervous and excited at the same time! Hopeing all goes well

  • How did they determine something like that?!

I just don't understand how there can be such difference in practice. My practice just checks my BP and listens to her heart on a doppler and I test my own pee in the hall bath and report back. Checking my weight is optional.

How on earth can we all receive such different care!?

But most importantly... GOOD LUCK and blessings to you and your LO.

Does your doctor check your fundal height (basically measuring your bump top to bottom)?  That's usually how they detect if a baby is smaller than average & then will do follow up u/s if it's too small or too big.

Thanks! I was wondering this as well. So that's what the belly measuring is for! OP, wishing you a healthy and speedy delivery, as you get to meet your LO early :)
