Does anyone else follow the Quiverfull idealogy when it comes to family planning? Like the Duggars? That woman is a saint in my book! I really reccommend all of her books to everyone

We do and I have to admit I'm disappointed we haven't gotten pregnant again. I'm still breastfeeding, but we aren't using any form of protection...I was hoping God had it in our plan to bless us with more children...and I feel awful for getting impatient with Him...

We're not following that ideology, but we are hoping to have another baby soon. I just weaned DS. Actually, he weaned himself, mostly, so I'm hoping it will help. The problem we were having (we've been trying for 6 months now) was almost certainly related to bf-ing, so it can be a very effective method of birth control for some moms. I hope you get your second blessing soon.

No. I am a Christian, and we don't use the birth control pill, but do use condoms and natural family planning. I'd like to have lots of kids, but ultimately it's God's hands and I believe he'll give us as many as he pleases. We aren't trying to have one right now, but if either of our methods failed, we'd be happy to have one and are blessed to be able to provide for them.

Oh...we use no other forms of birthcontrol...we feel that if we did, we'd be cheating God's ultimate plan for our family...and I couldn't in all good faith continue to call myself a proper Christian if I defied His wishes in anyways....

Oh, we probably won't have quit as many as the Duggars (I can only pray that we even come close). With my being 30 already I don't think I have that many childbearing years left in me.

NFP isnt some kind of new science or anything, woman have known since the stone age that the middle of the month, where you have lubricative, slippery mucus and feel extra frisky is when you are fertile. Avoiding sex during that time isn't sinful because the act is still open to life.

I hope we have more girls if we do. They're just so much more helpful. The more kids we have the easier it gets, at least that's what all the girls at church tell me. Mine are still pretty young, so we'll see.

The boys help around the house, but you know how little boys are, they don't want to play with a baby! That's all I meant. A few of my really close friends have 6 or more children...and they always tell me that the older girls get so excited to help with the new babies....

And you have a valid point, I'm sorry I misunderstood you...I thought she was implying that they used condoms around that time of the month...following your natuaral cycle isn't sinful.

I'm sorry if you think I'm making this up...I'm not...

I cannot quote you due to mobile Bump, but I am referring to your comment about not being able to call yourself a proper Christian if you used any birth control. Obviously, we differ in opinion. I realize that maybe it seems as if we aren't trusting Him completely by using condoms and NFP, but I don't believe that's the case at all.

It's kind of like thinking I shouldn't use a doctor if my leg gets cut off, that I should just wait for it to heal. God gave us these things to help us, and I see no harm in them. I don't believe it's unbiblical to use NFP or a condom to avoid. God gave us brains for these things. If he really wants to give me a child, He's God, so He's all powerful and he can do so, whether we use a condom or not. Thinking that using any form of birth control will limit God's ability to give you children is unbiblical.

Anyway, like I said, we differ in opinion, but I wanted to respond after the I couldn't "call myself a proper Christian" comment.

The day "God" blesses me with a winning powerball lottery ticket, an awesome chef, house cleaner, and. Nanny is the day I'll stop taking responsibility for my own body and ute and will "leave it up to him".

Oh, and he should do something about global warming and the problems a rapidly growing populatiOn causes.

Until then, I take responsibility for my own actions.
