Does LO grab your finger and pull it in?

If my hand is within reach he is always grabbing my fingers and pulling them in to his mouth to chew on.  It's pretty cute, but that means when he's on my hip, that hand which is holding him is constantly covered in baby dribble.  I also worry that my hands are not always the cleanest (touching door handles and whatnot)..

Is your baby doing this?

  • Yep!  The other day he did the ol' bait n switch on MH.  He had grabbed his middle finger, started bringing it towards the mouth, then bit down on his ring finger!  It was pretty hilarious.

  • Yes! And he really likes doing it when I'm changing his outfit. It is so hard to get his arms through the sleeves because he keeps trying to put my fingers in his mouth.

Ha, yes.  We have this problem when I'm doing up the snaps on his sleepsack, the top ones take forever because his chin is always down in attack finger mode.

  • oh yes! my hands have become so dry since I am constantly washing them for this reason alone. I"m also always covered in drool
  • Yup, Pilar has been doing it for at least a month.  I figure she really needs the chew toy.  If I'm not sure how clean my hands are I try to get her to nibble on her own.  I also keep a small bottle of hand sanitizor in her diaper bag so I can try to keep up.  I hope she is over it as winter colds start.

It's amazing how hard they can chomp down, esp. with no teeth!

Haha yes!  Andy's got his 2 lower teeth, and MH is a bit of a wimp, and he is still talking about how sharp they are.

  • Yes! LO hates his teether, so he chews on my knuckle whenever he can.

  • Yes! X does this all the time. He will even grab my hand, look at each finger, ponder, then he chooses one and pulls it in for gnawing. Its halarious. Last night I.forgot that I had put hand lotion on, poor kiddo, it must have tasted bad because he made the funniest face.

  • Yes!  I worry about the same thing, especially when he does it to DH.

  • Yes! I'm so glad LO doesn't have teeth broken through yet...his canines are sooo sharp under the skin though.

  • Oh yes. Anything she can grasp with her hand is going in her mouth. She can't wear dresses without shoving the whole front in her mouth within 5 minutes. She even grabs my hair and shoves it in her mouth.

  • Oh yes! She is always trying to shove my finger in her mouth lately! My finger and/or shoulder are constantly covered in drool these days.
