Talk to me about....poo

I know....gross. But, I need to know. DD was EBF until a few weeks ago when we started oatmeal. Still, there was no real change in poo. But, when I decided to start having daycare give her a cereal feeding while there, I brought a can of formula for them to mix it with so I didn't have to stress about an extra ounce of BM for cereal. I'm totally ok with it. She also had 2oz of a formula bottle on Sunday because I was gone and she got hungry way sooner than she should have. DH didn't want to that one of my very few stash bags of milk (smart) I'm totally ok with that too.

OMG! She had the goopiest gross poo last night. I'm assuming it's the formula because she's been on oatmeal for a few weeks and the poo consistency has been the same.

So, if you supplement or have switched from EBF to FF, did the poo change DRASTICALLY?? I totally wasn't prepared for gooey gross poo yet!!

Re: Talk to me about....poo

  • I exclusivley pumped for the first 6 weeks of DD's life, and have been giving her formula since then. the poo does change drastically, don't be too alarmed, it goes from a mustard yellow seedy looking BM poop, to a greenish/brownish goopy gross smelling poop when they start formula. It just gets worse as they start eating real food.

  • Ugh...gross. My guess is that it's from the actual bottle of formula she got. Luckily that won't be too often, hopefully almost never, but I'm glad I've accepted the option. I just don't want the gross poo yet. I'm not quite ready for the food poo either.

  • Yes, formula poop is DISGUSTING. It's thick and sticky and smells like rotten broccoli.
