Early pregnancy symptoms

Hi ladies!  I've been having different symptoms this time around and wondering if anyone had anything similar.  I've been extremely bloated/crampy...almost feels like I'm having my AF.  This kinda worries me because I'm running to the bathroom every chance I get to make sure I'm not bleeding.  My breasts are kinda sore but not really.  Everyone talks about sore breasts in the first couple weeks but mine aren't that bad at all.  I get an upset stomach every once and awhile (mostly in the afternoon/evening).  I get pretty tired around 1-2pm every day...I really could use a nap at this time however I'm at work.  I'm driving myself crazy with these symptoms...half the time I think it's just in my head.  Anyway, if you can remember back in the early weeks of your pregnancy...what were your symptoms like?  I'm sure I'm driving you guys crazy with all my worry...sorry!  Thanks!!

Re: Early pregnancy symptoms

  • You are not driving us crazy!  I can totally understand the worry.

My breasts never got really sore.  I did get "morning sickness" around 7 weeks or so that didn't end until almost 14 weeks.  Phenergan and Zofran are awesome to help with that!  I can't remember feeling bloated.  I do remember being VERY tired though.  I would go to be by 8 pm most nights early on.  That is so not normal for me, I usually go to bed around 11 pm.

  • {{{HUGS}}} I definitely didn't have a ton and it worried me. I hate the sickness, but I always feel like at least when I feel a little sick I know that something is going on in there! I didn't really start getting sick this time until about 6-8 weeks and other than that I just felt super tired. No sore breasts or anything. I know that the cramping can be very common, too. You are NOT driving us nuts with worry - please don't tihnk that!! I'm so incredibly happy for you and it must be so hard right now for you to feel so happy but still feel tentative about everything for a while. Keep the posts coming - I know it helps so much to talk about it and have people listen and we all love to hear your updates or anything you want to talk about:)
  • Hi Lesli,

I was very crampy at the beginning, and it definitely felt like AF cramps. People would freak me out by saying, "Oh, that never happened to me, are you sure that's normal?" It is. So far I've gone through "crampy" periods my entire pregnancy and everything is just fine.

My breasts didn't start to hurt for several weeks. My biggest symptoms were fatigue (soooo tired), the cramps, and at about week 6 I became nautious but not to the point that I would throw up. Oh. And...gas. My gums also bled when I brushed my teeth at the beginning, but I can't really remember when that started/stopped.

Your symptoms sound very similar to the early part of my pregnancy, so I hope that puts your mind at ease a bit!

    Hope you're doing well!

  • That all seems normal to me Big Smile

I was crampy for at least a few weeks and they gradually lessened and disappeared.  My boobs were a little sore and after a few weeks were definitely bigger and sore enough to make sleeping on my tummy uncomfy.  I was gassy and bloated.  My appetite fluctuated a lot and I felt a little queezy here and there.  It wasn't till about 8 weeks that I spent one entire morning throwing up but that was the only time I felt that bad (thankfully!).  I've been pretty tired from the beginning and fall asleep on the couch before 10 every night.

I know I keep looking for more symptoms too but every pregnancy is different.  The only thing that has reassured me are my good ultrasounds.  For some reason that's the only "proof" I'll accept that I'm really pregnant.  Hang in there!

  • I think bloating was my biggest complaint in the first trimester.  I even had some round ligament pain around 8 weeks.  And I had nausea even I didn't actually throw up there were a few times I really thought I would.  I did have vomiting when I was pregnant with Raymond.  I didn't notice the sore bb's that everyone else seemed to have.  But I was super tired all the time too!  I think you are normal!!!!!
  • Hi Lesli!

Yes, I did have crampy and bloated feeling and my dr. said that was normal and that things it is common as things move into place or stretch out.  I also didn?t have that sore of breasts however they did get huge in the first few weeks, but they have since resized to a more normal level.

  • I never had really sore breats either, I know what you mean by sore but not really.  I also was very bloated right from the start and had cramps the first few weeks.

My pregnancy with Connor was much different than my first when I miscarried (peanut).  With Peanut I was really sick, sore boobs and tired.  With Connor I was more crampy and had cravings right from day one.  Every pregnancy is different, and you just have to keep reminding yourself of that.

Have you been to the success after a loss board?  That was such a big help for me when I was pregnant.

  • Your symptoms sound just like me first few weeks of pregnancy.

My breasts were sore but not bad.  I always get tired a little while after eating (1-2).  And yes cramping like AF was on her way.

You aren't driving me crazy, I understand your concerns.

    *hugs*

  • I have the same symptoms.  I am trying to stay positive, but they scare me!

My breasts are nowhere near as sore as last time, but I always run to the bathroom to check.  I feel like I'm spotting, like af is coming, at times even a little sharper than that, but nothing is there. I always feel like I could use a nap though!

  • I agree with pp's... no worries about posting about your concerns.  I remember those early worries and now they're replaced by others.  My very early symptoms were a metallic taste in my mouth, cramps, and sore boobs.  I was already way bloated from the injections/meds so I didn't change much there.  I didn't feel sick until I hit about 6 weeks.  The exhaustion wasn't consistent and actually still comes and goes.  I'm thinking about you and hoping that you continue to have good news!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with me.  I'm feeling better after knowing that a lot of you had the same symptoms.  Ugh, this waiting is torture but I'm trying hard to not let it take over my life.  I just tell myself that it is beyond my control and if it's meant to happen it will!  I just got back from my injections and next Tuesday I will get b/w to check my levels and next Wed is my first u/s to check viability.  Thanks again for thinking of me...I really do appreciate it!  Smile
  • A little late, but I've been tired (mid-morning and mid-afternoon I'd love a nap, and I'm usually in bed by 9 or 9:30), bloated/gassy after I eat dinner and not my boobs, but just my nipples are a little sore.

    Stay hopeful!

  • I have been more tired than I could ever imagine.  I feel a little better this week though.  I have had cramps a bit here and there the past few days but (TMI) don't know if they're just gas which I've had a little more since too it seems alredy.  I've also had the wierd metally taste in my mouth.
  • I had the cramps like AF was coming, no sore boobs at all, and by the afternoon, EXHAUSTED.  And my nausea was the worst in the evening.  Mornings were always good (thank goodness, it would have made it tough to get moving otherwise) but it would get progressively worse as the day went on.  And I'd be asleep by 7:30 some nights.
  • :::kicks Lesli in the shins:::

I had to say something.  ;)

I suddenly can't even lay down on my boobs.  I think they are filled with razor blades.

So if we could scratch that and say my boobs WEREN'T sore LOL.
