3rd Trimester

Achy belly ( not contractions) 35 weeks

I've had lower abdominal achiness for a few months now due to carrying low, but today my whole abdomen started feeling achy. Usually a short nap on my side or a few minutes of cat-cow stretch helps this pass but no dice today. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Achy belly ( not contractions) 35 weeks

  • Hoping you get an answer to this because the exact same thing has been happening to me the past few days

  • Right?? It's really tiring. I'm going for growth scan tomorrow and plan to ask, but won't see my OB til next Monday. Not sure the hospital where the scan is will give me any information.

  • RLP.....is that real life practice?
  • RLP is Round Ligament Pain. I get this ache also and use a belly wedge to sleep with and wear the belly saupport brace when we walk the dogs daily. It does wonders.
  • My lower abdomen has been so achy too. Not the whole stomach but mainly where his head is. It hurts very very bad Lol. I am def. experiencing this too.

  • Ditto!

And where does one buy a belly support brace?

  • Lol, of course! This is def. not round ligament pain....or at least if it is, it's wildly different than it was earlier on. More diffuse and spread over the whole belly.

Today it was gone, so who knows. I've been wearing a belt for six weeks thanks to sacroiliitis and the belt helps a ton with lower ab pain. When I take it off, it's like her head is just pummeling me with every step!

    Ah, pregnancy.

  • You can get them at Destination Maternity, BBRU, etc....I got mine thru physical therapist's office because I needed specialized support for sacrum. They all seem to be around $30.
  • I'm 35 weeks and I've been having braxton Hicks today a lot and there kinda painful. I'm feeling really achy :/ its my first baby so idk If I'm starting to feel the beginning of labor or of its round ligament pain :/ .... What do I do !!
  • It doesn't get any better. :-( I'm 38 weeks and my belly aches constantly, mostly because LO is pushing/kicking the same spots over and over again.

Kayleerae1, drink a big glass of water and go for a walk or if you've been on your feet all day sit or lay down for a bit. If you're still having contractions after that call your doctor. Mine said 5 or more braxton hicks in a hour after doing the above warrants a call.

  • I have the achy belly muscles. Most definitely not RLP. A lot of my achiness is at the top (but I'm carrying very high). I feel like it's just my ab muscles stretching out as he has growth spurts. I also ache if I've had to stand a lot, which feels like it's just the weight of my belly pulling down on my muscles. The worst is my ribcage! I get a stretchy, achy feeling in my ribs that is so frustrating.

  • Mine has been achy too the last few days. I figure he's had a little growth spurt and is just out of room. It's uncomfortable but I'm not worried. I remember this from last time, but like everything else I feel like this happened later last time.
