Ds is rear facing in the car and I'm wondering now that fall and winter are coming, how do you keep the back seat if your car clean? Ds feet hit the seat now and I'm just thinking his shoes are going to get muddy and snowy and transfer it that onto the car. I have cloth seats not leather. Also when he gets taller and crosses them how do you keep their first pants clean?
Thanks!
Re: rear facing car seat question
What PP or even an old beach towel or something!
They make kick mats that can cover your seat for this reason. They attached the headrest (if your backseat has headrests.) I bought one when I was still pregnant for when I turned him around, but now that you mention it, I'll probably dig it out of hiding soon.
But unfortunately due to their thickness they're not recommended since they can hide a bad install. And besides, any impressions made in the seats are usually gone within a week of removing a car seat.
I took a thin and ratty towel, cut a slit to pull over the headrest, and tucked it between the seat and carseat after installation. Works great for us and it was free.
This is my plan. And I'll have bootie/slippers he can wear in the car to keep his feet warm.
