When to raise the excersaucer?

So it looks like Pey is pretty much standing without really resting her butt in the seat. So it's making her sway all over because obviously she can't stand balanced yet. Does this mean it's time to move it up or does it mean she is finally fitting in it?

It's on the lowest setting; when we first had her in it she was either tipped toe standing or leaning with having one foot flat and the other not touching.

I have a feeling if I lift it she will be back to tip toeing and or one foot touching and one not, is that better? I guess it's more of a lesser evil kind of thing.

Re: When to raise the excersaucer?

  • I had to raise ours to the middle one about a month ago!! He was only in the first setting for a few weeks. When I first moved him he wasn't really tip toeing, but he couldn't get a flat foot and was doing the leaning thing. It didn't take long before his foot was flat again. I say move it up!

  • Not sure if the rules are different, but our jumperoo has a little picture diagram on how to have their feet and how not to have their feet.

  • Just did a quick read through the manual and it says do not allow a baby to stand flat footed in it. Only tip toes. *insert blushing face here* Thanks for the responses though.

  • My excersaucer says that they should not be flat footed while in it so I would say move it up.

  • Ours is on the highest setting and he's standing flat footed.  I guess he's outgrown it already?  I'd say tip toeing or one foot up, one down is better than flat.
