New fall line up

What NEW fall shows are you watching this year?  (I am surprised Carla did not start this thread)  Anyway very few caught my eye.  I think I am going to catch a few episodes of Mob Doctor and Made in Jersey.

What will you ladies be watching?

Here is the list: https://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/fall/-fall-tv-preview-2012-new-television-shows-schedule.php

Re: New fall line up

  • Haha! :) I got excited when I saw the post, does that count?

I'll probably give them all a try, but everything I've seen so far has been bleh.

I'm looking forward to Elementary, Nashville (mostly bc I love Connie Britton!), Last Resort, and a couple of the CW ones - Arrow & Beauty & the Beast. Also want to give Guys with Kids a try, but don't have high hopes for it. All of the new comedies seem so forced to me this year!

  • I want to watch Revolution, maybe Chicago Fire, and I want to try out Beauty and the Beast.

And that's it. I don't usually watch a lot of TV. I read mostly.

  • I love tv and am excited for the new seasons of all my returning shows (The Office, Parks and Rec, Community, I mostly like comedies as you can see)

I watch too much tv as it is, but there are some promising new shows.  I caught an early premiere of the pilot for Go On (Matthew Perry sitcom on ABC) and I set my DVR to record it- I like it so far. The New Normal looks like it could be funny or terribly cliched, but I'll give it a go.  I'll also check out The Mindy Project (since I loved Mindy Kaling on The Office.

As far as dramas go, Nashville looks like it could fill the void of a cancelled GCB.  And Revolution is generally the kind of show I like to wait and watch on DVD so I don't have to wait in suspense to know what happens next, but it looks really good so I'll probably DVR it too.

They all remind me of Cougar Town.  Typical suberbia style comedy.  Not saying it is a bad thing b/c I liked Cougar Town but it seems old now. I dunno.

I may have to check that out.  I think I am the only person on earth who actually liked GCB.

  • DH and I pretty much avoid anything that may look good in it's first season.  Why?  Because too often, when we find a show we really like, it gets canceled after the first season (if it even makes it that far) - like last year - both Detroit 1-8-7 and Chicago Code.  If it makes it to the second season, then we'll pick it up.

So how do you catch up?  Do you rent season 1 before watching season 2?

The pilot episode of this was on Hulu. I thought it was simply terrible. And I have low TV standards :)

I'm mostly looking forward to the returning shows. Not many of the ones I liked made it through last season, so I'll be glad for the ones that are coming back. Esp. Parenthood and Revenge.

Agreed. I wanted to like it, the previews I saw a while ago seemed almost Arrested Developmentish. Uh. No. It was lame. I didn't care for that, Ben and Kate, the Mindy Project, or Go On really (although Go On was probably the best of the bunch).

I am excited about lots of returning shows. Revenge on Sundays this year will make that + Once Upon a Time the best night! Sons of Anarchy comes back 9/11, I've been watching the trailers over and over :)

It's more like we catch a show by accident...it's kind of like a 'hmm...this looks good, perhaps I will continue watching it' kinda thing.  Both the Sopranoes and nip/tuck I didn't pick up until well into the game and now I own both series on DVD.  I had never previously heard of Walking Dead until the second series was about to kick off...they were doing the first season marathon and happened across it and was addicted ever since.  That said, we honestly don't dedicate that much time to getting into tv series.  We love our sports and everything else is background noise except for a series or two at a time.

  • None of the new shows interest me so far... maybe I'll catch something if I hear rave reviews.

I'm mostly looking forward to my old shows coming back (Revenge, Once Upon a Time, Amazing Race, Survivor, NCIS, to name a few).

Nope.  I loved it!!!  So did a lot of people I know.  Maybe because we felt it was an exaggerated showing of people we know irl living in Dallas. lol

I saw this during the Olympias I think.  It had potential but I couldn't see how they could sustain a whole series from it.

This is possibly my favorite show of all time!  They have started filming a new season- but it will only be on Netflix.  Not sure when it airs- maybe next year?  I hope it's as good as it was.  Each episode is supposed to center around one of the characters.

DH thought it was the show was silly beyond belief but I liked the fact it was dumb humor.  I watch so much crime dramas that I need an easy to watch dumb drama/comedy sometimes.

  • I don't have high hopes for anything really, because the moment I fall in love with a network show it gets canceled, but I'm thinking I'm going to give these shows a try.  Hoping I'm not kryptonite!

    - Go On

    - Mob Doctor (finally, a different kind of doctor show.  Plus it has Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights, which is our current Netflix addiction.  Start season 2 tonight!)

    - The Mindy Project.  I just love Mindy Khaling!

    - Guys with Kids

    - Last Resort (though, this may be one that I wait a few seasons and pick up on Netflix if it lasts)

    - Life After Top Chef.  I love Top Chef, so I have to, right?!

  • I don't watch a lot of new shows, mostly reruns of comedies (Friends, Seinfeld).

However, I cannot wait for this season of The Walking Dead!!!! DH and I watch every single Sunday together. So fun!

We wait on a LOT of shows, and then get in to them on Netflix.  Case in point:
Dexter, Sopranos (it had been over for years before we watched it), Rescue Me, LOST, The Wire, and currently we're on to Friday Night Lights.

  • Ehhh. I'm also not very excited about any of them.
  • I am most excited for Nashville and Made in Jersey.

I'm looking forward to my old favorites: Revenge, Hart of Dixie, BH 90210 (I know and I don't care), Criminal Minds, Person of Interest, the Good Wife, Amazing Race, and Blue Bloods.

As you can see I watch too much tv.
