I'm in my second week of the CD trial. Things are going OK i'm still trying to work out kinks, like overnights. Last night DH and I were getting X ready for bed and I tried 3 different combinations for overnights and none of them fit right. He was getting impatient with me and wanting to nurse so DH grabbed a disposable, stuck it on him and said "There ya go perfect fit and so easy!" So X slept in a disposable last night.
So I thought to myself, why am I CDing again??

First off, if you'd like to troubleshoot, feel free to share what you've tried and maybe someone here has suggestions.
Here's why I cloth diaper: first and foremost, to save money. Two in 'sposies is expensive, like, $4,000 if I bought all the chlorine free eco diapers I use to send them to daycare. Secondly: because I care about the environment I am leaving to my children's generation and am preventing literal tons of trash from going into the environment. Three: because they don't freak me out the way the chemicals in disposables do (not that I think the evidence is conclusive there, but it does skeeve me out). Four: they're darn cute.
Also: don't feel bad about doing what you gotta do sometimes. Claire was in disposables all weekend because we were dealing with diaper rash. (Thanks to her spina bifida, she has something called neurogenic bladder and bowel, which means she's wet and dirty a lot more often than other babies, so keeping her dry and rash free is a challenge in both disposables AND cloth. She gets 'sposie breaks from time to time so I can use heavy-duty rash cream on her.)

That said, I use a disposable overnight. It's just easier for me and I know she will wake up dry. I'm fine with using one sposie a day considering she is in cloth all day. There are plenty of cloth overnight options if you want. BUT there is no reason you have to CD 100 Percent of the time either.
I switched because it is saving me money and saving tons of trash from our landfills. I use OS pocket diapers from Kawaii. They make up my entire stash. I use one insert for daytime and 2 inserts for night time. She can go 12 hours at night without leaking. I've only had one poop blowout and I was holding her weird so it shot out the leg. I had sooo many poop blowouts in sposies with DD1.
Also, I use the same CD's on smallest setting for LO and put them on largest setting for DD1 to use at nap and bedtime so I know they will last me until LO is potty trained. No more buying diapers, pullups, etc. It is just easier for our family.
I hope you find a night time solution that works for you. We use a pocket with the OS microfiber insert and a bamboo insert underneath. We've never had a leak and my LO still nurses 2-3x per night.
Don't be afraid to experiment. The worst that can happen is you have a leak. Wash the cloths/sheets, no big deal
We CD because my DH is against the chemicals in sposies and because it saves money over the long run (if I stop buying cute diapers).
However, we use a Whole Foods brand disposable over night because it is really full in the morning and we don't change him between 8pm and 6am (sometimes 7). I just don't want him sitting in it that long.
