I have a 2010 Terrain (basically an Equinox rebranded to GMC) and they both fit in my car without a problem. My SO drives a Mazda 3 though, and there was NO way that the Chaperone would fit (we tried moving the passenger seat up, adding a good bit of force, etc). The BSafe is still a tight fit, but at least we could get it in. So, that's the one that we went with.
I have a Chaperone and love it! I know everyone complains that its huge but it fit just fine in my Accord and in my CX9. DD fit really well in it from the get go. I put a newborn in a BSafe the other day and wasn't really impressed with it,and it doesn't come with the low birth weight foam insert for smaller newborns.
