Tough time with transitioning to new activities?

Anyone else's kiddo have a hard time with this?

Even if we're about to do something Ryan loves like take a bath, go outside and play, get ice cream, go to the park, go to a birthday party, etc... he protests heavily. What the heck? These are things he loves to do and once we get started he doesn't want to stop!

Has anyone else's kid done this? Any advice?

    My older DD has a hard time with transitions and my 4 year old does sometimes.  For us giving warnings and knowing the plan of what comes next helps so much.  I typically do a 10 mins warning and then 5 and then based on how they are doing, will do a 3 min one and then a 1 min one.  It seems a lot and sometimes I skip the 10 min one but the more notice, the better things go.  All really depends on mood -
