How was everyone's last blast of the summer??? I just visited the inlaws for a family bbq and pretty much slept all day today!! I can't believe the summer has gone by so quickly!
We went to my niece-in-laws (who is living in my MIL's old house) and went through things from my DH's mothers (She died the September after Michael was born). My BIL was only partially an ass.

DH picked this weekend to do a major home project that he was supposed to have done before DD was born, so I got no help with DD at all. At the same time DD decided to boycott naps completely unless I'm holding and rocking her. And I haven't been able to shower in days thanks to DH's project. Overall, I'd have to say my weekend sucked pretty bad.
We visited DH's family in glamorous Fresno (a San Joaquin valley city between Sacramento and L.A., known mainly for agriculture). It's a place that's kind of run-down and not known for fun and interesting sights, but we went because we hadn't seen these folks for a while. I wanted to go wine tasting in Napa or visit San Francisco or do something fun, instead.
Well, I'm really glad we went! We had a really great time, and got to see these cool little Hmong and Southeast Asian markets that reminded me so much of the open-air markets back in Sri Lanka! And visiting the fam was even more awesome! This was our baby's first long distance trip and he did really well on it too.
Now I want to go back ... there's apparently an Underground Garden that's famous around there!
Re: Long weekend..
We chilled out, visited with my BFF, I made chocolate chip cookies on Sunday and pancakes yesterday.
What? I have a newborn and I EBF. I'm mostly stuck at home and I eat a ton of food.
