I know everyone talks about the 4mw, but this is not what everyone is describing. The past few nights LO will cry for a couple hours at night and will not settle down starting at about 9pm-11pm. She will sttn (we bedshare) and it has not been an issue. This crying thing is out of control. She will settle if held tightly and rocked for a few minutes then start crying again. She is shoving her hands in her mouth and chewing and drooling so I thought it could be teething but crying because of teeth would not be limited to a two hour time slot at night...
Re: What is going on with her at night lately?
DS started doing that at about 3.5-4 months. Bedtime was this hellacious 2-3 hour cycle of rock to sleep, sleep for 10-20 minutes, wake screaming, repeat. It was like he just couldn't get settled for the night.
We realized we had an object permanence/sleep association problem and started putting him down drowsy and Ferber sleep training. It's not for everyone, but it's all that worked for DS to get his needed sleep.
My DD started doing this 3 nights ago at the exact same time you have mentioned...the only way I can settle her down is feeding her (she is formula fed)....and she will eventually fall back asleep but sometimes for not very long before she is up again but atleast at that point not crying/inconsolable. Just wanted you to know you aren't alone...
