MOTN feedings and belly sleepers

For those of you with belly sleepers, how do you put LO down after a MOTN feeding? I nurse, try to burp (usually unsuccessfully), hold DS upright for 10 - 15 mins or so, and then put him down on his belly.  I'm wondering if this is causing him any tummy discomfort bc at times he wakes up crying about an hr and half later. I dunno how else to put him down - if I put him on his side or back, he will wake himself up trying to roll over to his belly. Any thoughts?

  • it might just be a burp stuck.. We fed, burped then laid them on our chest to snuggle for 5-10 then put down on bellies.

  • I usually find her on her belly, but I still put her down on her back. Even if I burp after I feed her, sometimes she has a burp stuck. Like this morning, I fed her at 4am and she woke at 5am crying and I couldn't get her to stop crying, couldn't get the burp out. Finally hubby woke up from the screaming and he did his man jiggling and got the burp out then she was fine.

Then it was almost 6am and I had to get ready for work Crying

  • We don't do MOTN feedings anymore (usually), but I do feed her right before putting her down for bed. I usually lay her on her stomach, but sometimes I put her on her side. She seems fine with it.
