Baby Names

Names that end in -ella?

Ella is a family name, and I'd like to use it for your next lo if it's a girl.  We will start trying next month, but we had a very hard time picking names last go around.  So we started brainstorming.

Any ideas for names ending in Ella?
Or should we just use Ella as a fn?
Or would Ella make a better mn?

Or skip Ella and pick a different family name?

Honest answers please.  No recommendations you wouldn't actually name your own child, so I don't expect to see Cinderella on the list.  ;)

Thanks in advance.

  • I love Ella by itself (better as a FN than a MN), but I also love the names Gabriella and Arabella.

  • I wouldn't use Ella by itself as a first name just because of the growing popularity.  It would make a nice middle name.  Otherwise, I like Stella or Estella.  I heard the name Stella Kate the other day and loved it.

  • Ella is so popular right now that I would consider using it as a nn or mn.

Mariella gives her plenty of options,

  • I think because it is so popular it would be nice to give your daughter options. I personally like Stella.

  • Ella is my number 1 most hated name ever. It's just so overdone. No exaggeration at least 75 percent of the babies I know IRL are named Ella. It's like everyone ran out of ideas so they just said, "oh well, Ella it is!"

I'd use any other name that ends in Ella, although those bother me too, they're all so overdone but at least they aren't Ella.

ETA: I understand for you it is a family name, so I understand wanting to use it. I still say like, Gabriella or something is better! GL!
