We didn't wear DS1 on our backs until he was 7-8 months old.. not sure when you can start? What do the instructions say? I guess I prefer to have DS2 facing me, he's still so little. But, we did get a TON of use from the Ergo with DS1 on our backs, I'd say until he was almost 2. For hiking and such, when he didn't want to walk.

Im not sure if the instructions give a recommended age, but in instructional videos, I've seen it's okay when they can hold their upper bodies up relatively well. I don't think my LO is ready quite yet.
yes twice. Once to scoop poop in the backyard and once at Chuck E Cheese while I was running after my toddler. I did the first one by myself by a bed and had a friend help the second time. She loved it and fell asleep the second time. I could tell the exact moment she fell asleep because she instantly turned into a dead weight, lol.
From what I understand, the front carry limit is 20-25 lbs, and then you do back carry. You can do it early but just be careful not to flip them over since they can't hold on as well ; ) As long as you're not going to be running in it or doing cartwheels, you should be ok ; )
