Today I had my CD3 ultrasound and blood work done. During the u/s the tech asked me if I have a history of fibroids - so I sort of knew something was up. When the nurse called me later in the day she said I had a 23 mm cyst on my right side and they are going to run some more b/w tests (estradiol and progesterone) and if those are low then I can start clomid tomorrow (was supposed to take it tonight.
Does anyone know what the risks are of starting a round of Clomid with a cyst? I have PCOS so I usually have small cysts and haven't dealt with one that large before.
Re: CD 3 Ultrasound question- cyst
My RE said something similar when she did my baseline ultrasound.
I am currently sitting out what would have been my 3rd Clomid cycle because of a cyst. Mine was 41. I also had to sit out what would have been my first treatment cycle because of a 32 mm cyst. My doctor won't proceed with a treatment cycle if you have a cyst over 28 mm.
I hope your hormone levels are low enough to go forward! Fingers crossed :-)

Thanks! Do you know what could happen if you proceed with a cycle with a large cyst? What could happen?

Clomid can cause cysts to grow larger. I hate being benched this cycle but it's only a few weeks off vs. permanent damage.

You could be totally right. I just knew they produced something
I've had to sit out several times for cysts and mine have always been based off E2 levels. Anything over 60 is a no-go.
On the other hand, the one time I had high progesterone at 7dpo, my RE said it could be because of a corpus luteum cyst. Maybe it depends on what type of cyst as to what is produced, but they don't even check P4 at baseline for me.

Thanks for all your responses ladies - I just spoke the my RE's nurse and she said my estrogren level was pretty low (33) so it doesn't look like my 23mm cyst is producing estrogen and won't "hog" all the clomid and grow.
I will be starting a round of Clomid tonight.
