XP from Oct- flipping positions at almost 36w

I posted in October but I'm due 10/3 and most of those ladies are due later in the month. Since you all are farther along I thought I'd ask here too.

LO has definitely been head down for the last 10 weeks or so. I've had 2 u/s that confirmed, as well as her nightly hiccups felt way down low. Since yesterday I've felt a ton of movement, sometimes painful and a lot of hardness towards the top of my belly. Also, a ton of back pain that I haven't had before. Tonight's hiccup routine was definitely upper right side of my belly so I'm pretty sure she decided to flip. I guess there was enough room for her, so hopefully she will flip back down. Getting so close to the end, I would hate for her to stay this way.

Anyone else have LO flip this late in the game & still manage to flip back? Thanks!

  • Sometimes it feels like my LO will start to turn a bit...  I have a yoga ball that I bounce on for a while and that seems to help.   That's really all the advice I have.  At 36 weeks, I'd say you have plenty of time (and room) for baby to turn a few times.

  • Mine flipped from breech to head down about a day before 37 weeks. It's never too late!
  • I went through almost the exact same thing.  Baby flipped head down for me around 30-32 weeks, and then at my 36 week appointment, it was transverse.  I had the same thoughts as you: "If baby had enough room to move once, I'm sure it has enough room to move back down in time".

I did as many exercises as I could from spinningbabies.com and spent a lot of time on all fours and on my labor ball.  At my 37 week appointment, baby was back to head down.  I honestly have no idea where baby is at now, I feel like it's constantly moving around.

GL and don't worry.  You still have plenty of time for baby to move!

  • There's still time to flip, but your baby is running out of room fast. I would start doing exercises to turn the baby asap. Also, hardness at the top of your belly isn't necessarily the head. Baby's bottom feels pretty hard too. I thought that I was feeling my baby's head, but it was his rear.

  • I have an appointment Thursday so I'll find out for sure then, but I'm definitely going to look into the exercises on spinning babies. Thanks ladies!

  • You can also try a Webster certified chiropractor.  My LO was head down too but turned transverse about 34 weeks.  I went to my first chiropractor appt around 36 weeks and he was back head down the next morning.

  • LO was breech at 36 weeks and flipped by 37 weeks, so you still have a little time.
