Amber teething necklace question..

Anyone planning on or bought one for their LO and teething? At this point I am willing to try anything to ease some of Ari's pain and his lack of sleep... or anything that resembles it!

If you bought or are buying on where did you get it? Also, what size are you getting? Should I buy a bit bigger so he grows into it?

Re: Amber teething necklace question..

  • I haven't, but a friend of mine swears by the onr for her son. She said it didn't take away all the pain, but it helped. I believe she bought it online. You want to make sure it's tight enough that it won't get caught in anything.

  • I bought one, but DH isn't comfortable with something around DS2s neck right now since he is so little.. and since I win most of our arguments I figured I'd let him have this one.  We'll try it in a couple of months.  He's not teething but there is a lot of dribble.  My oldest didn't get teeth until 1 year, but I figure it can't hurt:)

  • I bought one at a baby boutique in town. The ones they were selling come in one size.

I didnt want one too big that he paid attention to it. I can put it on him and he has no interest in it at all. At night time, I take it and wrap it around his ankle (loosely) under his sleeper.

I think that it does work. I can tell you when I forget to put it on because I have a drool monster who continually complains. When he has it on, he drools way less and is a bit happier.

Plus, now he can tell all his baby friends that he has bling.

  • I bought mine from Amazon.com. Ellie has 2 teeth already and is working on her third. Teething sucks! The amber necklace does seem to work though. I only put it on her when she is awake and take it off at naps and at night.
I give up on trying to make a ticker.... this new bump format is for the birds...

  • Thanks ladies!

I will look on Amazon. Hopefully there is a guide to see how big I should get.

  • I got the infant anklet for DD from amber24.com.  I put it on her ankle under her pajamas so it isn't anywhere near her neck/face.  It does seem to help!

  • We got one for both of the girls at Inspired by FInn.  They are probably the most well known company.  Both of the girls wear a 10.5 inch strand.  My DD1's neck has actually slimmed down now that she has more of a neck.  She has plenty of room to grow into it.  I would use a string or something to measure your babies neck because you want it to be fairly tight.  You don't want them to be able to put it in their mouth.

  • Someone explain to me..

Is it a teether? They wear it and bite it? Or they just wear it with no biting? Are there two of them? One for biting one for NOT biting? HALPMEEENOWW

They wear it and it is not for biting. Or touching. Or playing with. You can get a necklace (thats what I have) or an anklet. You could get both.

Wy guy actually doesnt even notice when it is on. Which is a good thing.

No they are NOT supposed to bite it! If you look at Inspired by Finn's website they have a description of how/why it works

  • I am glad they are helpful to some of you, but I don't think I will ever get one. I mean, I don't have bumpers in his crib, he doesn't get a lovie, ect ect. How can I wrap a chocking hazard around his neck or ankle? I even worry about the band aid when he gets a vaccine, that he may pull it off and try to eat it. He is a curios guy!

It just goes up there with the things I am not comfortable with bc of the risk.

  • my sister has twins and she got amber teething necklaces for them, and she was really happy with the result. also a few of my friends have bought amber teething necklaces and bracelets for their babies, I haven't heard any complaints yet. my sis bought her necklaces from gembid.co.uk, and I'm not sure about my friends, but I can ask them and let you know later.
