Hair clips for very fine hair

My DD has very fine hair and I've tried so many clips but they all loosen and start to fall out within minutes of putting them in. Can someone please recommend some type/brand of clip that actually stays in thin hair?! TIA

Re: Hair clips for very fine hair

  • I gave up with using clips alone and put in a little pony with those tiny plastic binders (u can find at tar.get) and put the clip through the hair right in front and it seems to work well.

  • My DD has very little hair & I think those little tiny rubber bands are the best thing for it... (i get mine at CVS, scrunchee brand or something, a box of like 100).

For clips, the best one I found was quite pricey from the kids haircut place but it was that alligator clip style, but made out of metal with a fabric bow on it & much tighter than the kind you buy at target or wherever with like 5 on a strip in different colors.

  • I wouldn't say DD has fine hair but I buy her bows on etsy and always ask for non-slip grips. Those seem to work for me.

  • I take her bangs and top layer of hair and put it in a pony off to the side and insert a bow/flower that way.  All mine are alligator clips.  If you order them off etsy, most can put a girp on it as well.

    I use these rubber bands.

  • I also have to put a ponytail holder in DD"s hair before putting in her bows or clips. I get the small brown type that isn't supposed to get caught in hair. I think Goody makes them?

  • How about the ones that bend one way and then click into place the other way?

I do these + tiny rubber bands to hold her hair in place.

If you have a Dollar Tree in your area, they sell this exact 500 pack of rubberbands for, you guessed, $1! I use a new one in my DD's hair everyday since they stretch out so easily and I have never ever run out. I think that is the one purchase I have been most satisfied with at Dollar Tree!
