INTRO

Hi Everyone-

I have been lurking for a few days to see if I "belong" here.  I will try to keep my story short.

 DD was born at 37 weeks for suspected IUGR (never confirmed). 5lb2oz good apgar scores, no NICU visit.  At 6 months she wasn't hitting any "milestones" a term that I tend NOT to use anymore. By 9 months she could not sit unsupported and I reached out to EI and threw away all the "what to expect in the first year" type books.  I knew at that point we were in for a journey.  Fast forward a little over a year....  She finally sat unsupported around 14 months, learned to sit up from laying down on her own by 20 months, crawling about a week before her 2nd bday,cruising on furniture quickly after.  She has not spoken any words yet, and can't walk.  There are receptive language delays, fine motor delays, gross motor delays, and speech delays.  We see a PT two hours/week, OT one hour/week, DS one hour/week, SLP one hour/week, and EI playgroup 2 hours/week.

 No diagnosis at this point.  We see a neurologist every 3 months and just saw a genetics counselor.  We have done a full chromosomal/mitochondrial panel, and an MRI of her brain.  Everything keeps coming back "normal."  So we continue with our 7 or so hours of therapy weekly and just keep watching as she develops.  As a side note... I am due with my second baby in two weeks!

 It has been and still is quite the ride.  My DD is extremely happy and social which makes therapy a little easier- she actually enjoys when the therapists come over.
