I miscarried on the 25th of August at about 6 weeks pregnant, this was my second miscarriage. Every pregnancy and miscarriage and person is different, but I resent been told this morning exactly how I should be feeling!
I have had the worst pain I have ever felt in my life through this miscarriage, my HCG is going up and my bleeding is now so heavy I'm changing pads at least once an hour. The other day my fiance went to work and came back early worried, to find me on the bathroom floor unable to get up from the pain, surrounded by my own vomit (Sorry TMI)... The pain was horrific, I screamed every time I moved!
So since last night, the pain has finally calmed down, as has my sickness, but the bleeding is now extremely intense and making me sore. So I called my doctors but the receptionist said I could not speak to my doctor, so put me through to a nurse who told me this exact quote "We don't give anything stronger than over the counter pain killers because the pain is not bad for first trimester miscarriage, and you can cope"... I can't believe how insensitive this woman was! I hung up before I got really angry!
Re: Ignorance of some people on miscarriage! :@
I'm so sorry for your loss. How awful of her! I don't understand how people can be so insensitive, and it makes me even more mad when it's health professionals who are so rude. They should be the ones who are kind and helpful!
I know what you mean about the pain...it was excruciating for me too. I bled through a pad every 15 minutes for a few hours afterward and I was sore for days! Hang in there, the worst is over. **hugs**
I'm so sorry.
Please go to the ER. With your situation, something bigger than a miscarriage could be going on. Seriously, please go to the ER.
I've been the the emergancy room more times than you can imagine! All I hear is "It's normal"... Which is really starting to bug me. I must admit I am losing faith in the British healthcare system! Each time they have tested the same thing and sent me home with the same leaflet saying "Bleeding while pregnant" which is so heartless since I'm no longer pregnant!
Would anyone be able to say if they have had a similar experience on this? I have a sore bladder and womb, constantly feel like I need to pee and a sort of bloated, constipated feeling. Has anyone else had this after a miscarriage?
Please have them check for an ectopic pregnancy. It can quickly become a life-threatening situation. While it wasn't my experience, when my HcG levels didn't go down for nearly a month after my miscarriage, my doc ordered another ultrasound and because of how it looked sent me to the ER immediately.
Luckily, it wasn't ectopic, just a cyst that caused a funny shadow, but if you are in that much pain, insist on another ultrasound specifically to check for a tubal pregnancy.
