1st Trimester

No morning sickness

Hello all! I'm new on here but this is my 2nd pregnancy. I know that not all women have morning sickness and I am one of the fortunate ones...but at the same time it stresses me out a little because I've read that the more you are sick the more hormones are surging through your body..less chance of miscarriage. The only pregnancy symptoms I have are fatigue and sore boobs! Is there anyone else out there that is not having morning sickness?

Re: No morning sickness

  • How far along are you?  I've heard that m/s may not start until 6 weeks +

I'm at 5 1/2 weeks, and I've had nausea on and off, but no m/s.  I feel a bit more nausea each day that passes.  I've had some dry heaving, but no vomit yet (sorry tmi)

Not everyone experiences the same symptoms.  I know of women who had no m/s at all and delivered healthy babies.  Everyone is different - I wouldn't worry :)

  • My nausea is misery- just be happy you don't have it.

Did you have m/s with your first?

  • How many weeks? my m/s didn't start til  6 weeks. There is a high % of people who do suffer morning sickness but that means there is a % that don't. I wouldn't worry right now. I haven't actually gotten sick but I feel it ALL day and ALL night.

Did you get sick with your first?

  • I didn't have morning sickness with either of my children and I had healthy pregnancies and they're perfect and healthy themselves. No morning sickness for me so far this pregnancy, but it's still very early.

  • I have had pretty much the same experience with this pregnancy and my first. At the very beginning I often experience this same worry. (And if I dare to blog about it I always get someone saying "you shouldn't be complaining", lol.) I don't think the absence of MS affects the chances of miscarrying. I'm sure everything is fine, but it's always reassuring when you get that verification on an ultrasound. But I do think we are blessed-several of my close friends had such a tough time early on. It is interesting how pregnancy affects everyone so differently. Hope you continue feeling good!

  • How far along are you? With my first I didn't feel sick until about 9 weeks and it only lasted a week. Also, it was only really bad nausea, I never actually got sick.

  • My cousin had no morning sickness. Neither did my mom. So I would not worry about it, just be happy! I have it bad sometimes. Ick.

  • I haven't had any morning sickness either and I'm in my 12th week. I have felt like I should this whole time, but really about 25% of women don't. I have had plenty of other symptoms, just not morning sickness.

  • That is actually untrue.  Morning sickness does not mean a healthier pregnancy, not by a long shot.  When I'm pregnant I get the worst type of morning sickness imaginable....like hooked up to a zofran pump bad/can't work, lose 25lbs bad.  All of my friends who had little to no morning sickness, have had no miscarriages.

I'd give ANYTHING to have a pregnancy without Hyperemisis (Severe Morning Sickness)

  • I'm 11 weeks & 4 days and I haven't gotten sick yet.  I've felt nauseas quite a few times but that is all.  With my first pregnancy I was super sick from week 7-14 and lost 13 pounds so I guess every pregnancy is different.  Everything seems to be going great with this pregnancy so far.  Good luck!!!

  • I'm having the same worries, even though I'm trying not to. Really just have sore boobs and a but of tiredness. Still getting some cramps too. I've felt a little sick a few times, but not really anything that bad. Just trying to look at the bright side and hope everything goes well for the forseeable future! :)

  • i am 11.5 weeks and no sore boobs, no morning sickness at all this pregnancy. just more tired than normal. i know its scary and you will worry about it but be thankful you are not miserable and enjoy your pregnancy. wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months
  •  This is my first pregnancy and I am in the middle of week 8 and I dont have m/s its just that my breast are really really sore. I was really nauseaed  a couple weeks before I even tested.  and I'm nauseaed in the mornings until I have bread or some fruit, then it subsides until a little later in the day.
  • I never had true morning sickness, just a bit of nausea!
