DD is older but she is sitting unassisted. We put the boppy around her just in case. With the bumbo recall, daycare was putting two boppies around her and I think that really helped her. She loves to sit and tells you otherwise.
Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.

DD can sit for a few seconds by herself. But, she's so interested in standing that she throws her legs out and knocks herself over. I really think she may skip sitting altogether, though she enjoys sitting in her bumbo. I didn't even think to put the boppy around her. Definitely going to try that.

He can't pull himself up on his own, but he loves to be in a sitting position. Over the last few days he has become really good at sitting in the " tripod" position ( sitting with arms out in front for support).
He also decided this week that he wants to fight me on his first two morning feedings. Finally, I figured out what the deal was....apparently, he doesn't want Mom to hold his bottle for him anymore. He likes sticking it back and forth in his mouth on his own and holding it. I enjoy watching him grow and develop new skills, but it's happening too fast for me and is making me a bit sad.
She is close, and can sit up for a few seconds unassisted. We have been using the boppy around her a lot. Yesterday she was content to sit up like that for about 30 minutes, no falling over! I can't believe she is big enough to sit on the floor like that with toys all around her! Slow down baby!
When I sit him in his bouncer he tries sitting up over and over again, he just does baby crunches. He does the tripod sitting and he can sit for a little bit by himself if I sit him there but his balance still Jane very good yet. He planks himself out of the bumbo as soon as I try to sit him in it so I haven't used it for 2 months. That was a waste of money.
DD is one of the older babies here, but she can sit up completely unassisted. She's gotten past the "arms propping her up" stage. She can now sit and play with toys and what not. Like softskate said though, she isn't pulling herself into the sit position from laying down, she just sits very well if put in the sit position.
She loves to be in the sitting position and is constantly trying to sit herself up but even when I put her in the tripod position, she goes down pretty quickly. Her giant head seems to be holding her back.

Huh. Mine is nowhere near sitting by himself. He is also nowhere near sttn, teething, never took to a bottle / paci... seems he's veered off onto his own little path! Oh well!!
Ds wants to sooo bad but isn't there yet. We put the boppy around him or I sit behind him to help, but he gets so excited and starts grabbing for toys and knocks himself over. I figure in a few more weeks, he'll be pretty much sitting unassisted.
He'll chill out in tripod sit for a bit, as long as there isn't anything interesting up above eye level. We only discovered this new skill last Wednesday!
Mine can sit up on her own, but only for a few seconds at a time before she leans and topples. We have to watch it with her now! She can't sit up from laying flat, but she can sit up from her nursing position level, in her swing, and enough other places to keep me worrying.
