Scooters for Preschoolers

DD really wants a scooter so I am thinking about getting her one for Christmas from Santa or else waiting until her 3rd birthday in May.  I am looking at these two:

Anyone have an experience with either of them? Especially for a 3 year old? (I will shop around for prices, so not really worried about price differences at this point) Thanks!

    We have both at my house and I like the Radio Flyer a tad more for beginners. I like how the single wheel is out of the way for kicking off. I would recommend both of them though.

    DS has one very similar to the Radio Flyer one and it's great.  It doesn't go fast so he can't kill himself on it but can actually ride it.  Haven't seen the other.

    DD has a hand me down of the razor...  Given what the PP have mentioned, it sounds like you can't go wrong either way!  IMO, I'd buy the cheaper one and spend the rest on a helmet to match...

    I've heard from a bunch of parents w/older kids that the razors are super fast and therefore have lead to a bunch more crashes/injuries. We have the Radio Flyer and love it.
