Anyone have any ideas for easing hip pain at night? I have been using a snoogle and keep it between my legs, but it's not helping. I am planning to try sleeping on top of a folded up comforter tonight to try to make the bed softer. I've read that memory foam toppers can help, but that's a lot of money to spend if it might not do anything!
Re: hip pain from sleeping on side
just pillows and moving a bit...sadly i don;t feel any one position or solution works for all night sleeping....body's way of prepping you perhaps for baby feeding:)
i get excited when I can sleep for 3 hours straight without feeling uncomfortable or having to pee
Eta I have a memory foam topper over a slightly firm mattress
Unless your doctor specifically told you not to, you can sleep on your back - just make sure you're not FLAT on your back. There's only a few specific cases where back sleeping while pregnant is a problem. If you have one of those cases, then you'll have to endure, I suppose. My hips hurt too much for side sleeping, so I actually sleep on my back, on my couch, leaned up against the arm rest. I'm not sitting up, but i'm at a very nice incline, and i usually wake up half turned to the left or the right. I've started sleeping 5 hours at a time since I moved to the couch and started sleeping a bit on an incline.
my bed is actually too flat for me right now, so I stopped trying to sleep there.
the hip pain went away after a few nights of back sleeping, btw. so as long as I do one night one and one night off, i'm not having any problems.
