LO has his first cold, likely thanks to his first week at daycare. Right now, it's a superficial cough and a very stuffy nose. He's still pretty happy, but having a hard time sleeping well.
Any tips? We're staying low key, focusing on sleeping, and continuing with his regular vitamin drops.
Do babies have colds for as long as adults, or do they tend to move through the body faster?
Has anyone done Vicks Vapor Rub on an infant?
Tips on using the nose aspirator...haven't done it yet, but I'm nervous that we're headed in that direction
Thanks!!
Re: Baby's first cold: tips for getting through it?
We took Ava to her pedi yesterday and she has a cold as well
Here is what our pedi said:
Lots of nose spray we got( the lil noses saline drops); be careful not to use the "nose sucker" too much or it will irritate the nose and you will just start chasing your tail.
humidifier: we got the one that you add Vicks liquid medication into it and it will release through the steam. We don't have any other LOs, so a hot humidfier works for us, but if you do then you can get the cold one.
She already seems to be sleeping better and less stuffy.
Hope this helps and good luck!

We've used this trick for dd for years, it works like a charm.
Before using Vicks vapor run I would check with the pediatrician.

I can't make clicky on iPad.
My LO had a little congestion so we used saline and Tylenol. We considered a vaporizer with just water.
Thanks for the study info and all of the suggestions, everyone!
He is very tired today, but seems to be doing a little better (much less cough)...
