My advice would be to just keep trying... Ds always cries when I drop him off in the church nursery, but he stops. I think part of his issue is that he is ready for a nap when church starts. My DS is also very clingy, can't leave the room... He will grow out of it, but just keep trying.

It's just one of those things you just have to kinda ride out...it's really common around this age. I know it's stressful but it will end.
