  Unless their are knives hanging around on the floor or something, I'm gonna say no. That's totally normal. Sometime's L plays on his mat while I cook dinner in the other room. I can hear him and see him relatively quickly so it's no biggie.

  Hehe, no he is surrounded by his little rattles and teether. Totally safe environment. He is mostly laying there chewing on his finger...poor gums are sore.

  I put DD on her mat on the floor when I make dinner too. No worries. Just makes sure she can't get into anything!

  If that is wrong, someone call cps on me. Thad lurves his playmat and I leave him there while I do things all the time.

  I do it too! I might would pay closer attention once lo starts to scoot and crawl but for now I think lo is ok

  I do that too. Until he is moving for real I feel no guilt about putting him down in a safe spot and going into another room for a bit.
