At one of my showers, some people bought me a clothing item and then something else, like my aunt got me a Diaper Genie and a few items of clothing. I think a lot of people kind of understand that at showers a lot of people love getting baby clothing so they want to be different and get a non-clothing item. Plus, since you don't know what you're having, that should make it so that you don't get a lot of clothes....

We were team green so no one knew if our baby was a girl or boy (neither did we obviously) and we got very little clothes (maybe a couple of yellow and green sleepers.
This. I got a pack of onsies and a couple sleepers, that's it.
I didn't reveal the sex of my first baby until after the shower or register for any clothes, and I got barely any. So I would just do that and hope for the best. Even if you get a few things, it will be nice to have something new for your baby as well.
