I haven't been on lately since school started but I was reading through some of the post from the past couple days and I saw the post about knowing LDS (mormon) people. I just wanted to say that I am LDS and I saw there was one other momma on here that is too and it made me happy

That and I am always happy to clarify about my religion if someone has a question
Re: LDS
:-)
I believe the "planet" he was refering to was Kolob. The reference to Kolob is found in the Book of Abraham which is a work which was published by Joseph Smith. This page describes it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolob
As far as our beliefs about race, in 1978 the church released a statement that all worthy male members of the church should be able to hold the priesthood. Before that african american members were not ordained to the priesthod and therefore were not able to participate in some of the ordinances in the temple. No one that I know is racist and actually, if someone in the church were to discriminate or participate in hateful actions towards anyone for any reason, including racism, they would have consequences. We believe in living a Christ like life and being an example of Jesus Christ and any racist behavior is abslutely out of line with our religion.
Finally, the "magic underwear" he was referring to are called garments. They are a sacred clothing worn by members of the church who have made covenants in the temple. They are a reminder of the covenants made and our commitment to follow the Savior.
Hope I answered your questions. If you have any more let me know
I do not drink alcohol, tea, or coffee and I do not use tobacco or other drugs not intended for a medically necessary purpose. I do however drink caffeine. I don't think I could live without it as a mother of two small children and a full time working mom. The church actually released a statement on Wednesday clarifying that it does not forbid drinking caffeine. It does not view it as healthy however, it leaves the decision to use caffeine up to each individual member.
I really don't think there is much I do that is much different than other people. I don't work or shop on Sunday, it is to be a day spent with your family and reflecting on Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, and the covenants we have made. Other than that I can't really think of any thing extremely different.
As far as my wedding, I actually had 2 different ceremonies. I had a ceremony in the temple and only members of the church who have made convenants in the temple were at that ceremony. The temple is an extremely sacred place for us and to be able to enter there are requirements one must meet. As a member of the church I had to be baptized, and be following the expectations of the church, including following the word of wisdom (no alcohol, tea, coffee etc.) dressing modestly, using clean language, reading my scriptures, attending all of my church meetings, and paying tithing which is 10% of my gross income. There are several more, basically, you need to be following the example of Jesus Christ and living a Christ-like life. Once you are interviewed and it is found you are living all of these principals, you are given a recommend to go into the temple. So the people who had these recommends were able to attend that ceremony. My parents were not there, I am a convert and therefore I am the only member in my family.
The day after the temple ceremony I had a ring ceremony which was like a traditional wedding ceremony. We exchanged rings and had some speakers. The only differece is we did not exchange any vows at the ring ceremony as we had already done that in the temple. Everyone was invited to the ring ceremony including my parents. Right after the ring ceremony I had a reception just like anyone else would have (there was no alcohol).
As far as how many children I want, I want 3 children. I do not want any more than 3. I don't think there is really a reason some LDS families are large. Most of the families I know have 2-4 kids.
Absolutely my pleasure
And wow, that is a lot of cousins!! That is crazy!
