Pregnant after a Loss

Question about bleeding , anyone know???

ok, so I was diagnosed w/a subchronic hematoma, basically described as a bruise that can cause bleeding through out. I have been bleeding, it's usually always dark and when I wipe, BUT... when I got up this morning to go the bathroom, the toilet bowl had blood in it as well and a lot more when I wiped then usual, it was much thinner and a redish brown. If anyone has seen my previous posts you know I'm constantly freaking out and just over all nervous about losing another baby. I know a lot of women bleed and I'm going in for a us today at 2:30. Does this sound strange or am I over re-acting. I hate feeling like the girl who need a us every 5 seconds, but the consistency of this is different. It doesn't seem old as it's a thinner, more liquid like blood,

Could use your thoughts and prayers on this one. Thanks

  • I don't know much about subchronic hematomas but I know that a lot of people bleed and everything is fine.

I do know that your doctor is there to make sure that you feel comfortable, so calling them all the time is a perfectly fine things to do.

Good luck and keep us updated!!

  • Anything that is different warrants a call to the doctor in my book. you aren't goign to be "that girl" just for calling, you are merely a good mother to be.
  • You are absolutely not "that girl".  I agree with KatieLM that any change is reason enough for a call.  I'm sorry about the hematoma, I can only imagine how much stress and worry that adds.
  • I haven't had experience with this, but I'm wishing for the best for you and that this bleeding stops.  Don't worry about calling the dr., that is their job.
  • Spotting is terrifying when you're pg, ESPECIALLY if you've had a m/c and know what spotting can turn into.  Never ever ever feel bad for worrying, it's so normal.  I was a wreck for the first few months of this pg, and a few bouts of super light spotting didn't help me any.  Do your best to relax as much as you can, but just do what you need to do to find reassurance.  (I highly recommend random doppler checks if you feel the need.)

As for the bleeding, I had a subchorionic hemmorage with my ds, before I'd ever had a m/c, and I was terrified, and so sure it must be all over.  I was bleeding bright red blood, dripping down my legs...yet he was absolutely FINE.  It can be ok, but go check it out to reassure yourself.  Good luck to you.

  • I've had an ongoing hematoma, as well. I've had every type of bleeding, from barely spotting to all-on period bleeding and the same type of reddish-brown as well.  So from my experience, the bleeding from a hematoma can vary quite a bit day-to-day.  Everything scares the heck out of me, but the good news is that the baby has been just fine throughout it all.  I hope that your u/s shows a happy little baby in there.  Keep me updated.

  • Thank you so much for your info and support, it does make me feel better, I also get nervous that b/c I'm SO worried it's not good for the baby so that is why I made an apt for today. I HATE this hematoma it has made me a nervous wrek for 3 months, I can't wait for it to be gone. I keep thinking w/the bleeding it must be so small it's almost not there, but last time I went in for this it was barely smaller and they told me it's like 1cm by 2cm, how can there be this much blood w/something so small. I'm also feeling a little cramping today so I just this all goes well.

     Thanks again for your support

  • That happened to me around 9 weeks with last pg. We had an u/s and OBGYN said baby looked perfect and they couldn't find a reason for the bleeding.
