Thoughts on Edna?

Edna is my late grandmother's mn. I have it on my fn list for a future DD with the intention of using the nn Edie. Thoughts? Too old lady? Or vintage?

I don't love Edna, I think Edie is cute. I'm biased though because there is an Edna in my family (my grandfather's SIL) who is just a complete b**ch.

Edna is alright, but I think I'd have a hard time soaking it in and accepting it as a baby girl's name.

Edie is adorable, but I like it as a nn for Edith.

Reminds me of Bart's teacher, Edna Crabbopple (no clue how to spell it) from the Simpson's.

Edie is kind of cute, but Edna is way too old-lady for me. I'm not really into the old lady names in the first place, though.

I think it's way too old-lady. Perhaps it would be an ok middle name, since they aren't used often. My grandma's name was Camille and I am considering using that as a middle name if I have a girl.

I love older names, but I just can't get it up for this one. It's a little too clunky for me. I do like Edie, but as a nn for Edith.

I love love love most old lady names but for some reason I can't get on board with Edna. Would you consider it in the mn spot?

I do, however really like Edie.

It's a little too old lady for me for a FN, but okay for a MN given the family ties. Love Edie as a nn.

I don't think Edna is ready for a comback yet -- but Edie is adorable, so maybe it would work? You might just be ahead of the curve!

Sorry, but...I hate it. Even in the MN spot. It is actually my MN; I was named after my dad's grandmother who died a year before I was born. I've been constantly made fun of for it by countless classmates while growing up, my siblings, even adults... and still, whenever someone finds out that it's my MN, they laugh like it's the most hysterical thing they've ever heard. Thanks, Mom & Dad.

The only thing that makes it a tiny bit better is that it's after someone else... I try to remember that every time I have to fill my full name out on anything.

I do think Edie is cute though...
