2+ moms: did anyone have two easy babies?!!

Because my little one is such a mellow lady and I've had it really easy with her I feel like I am doomed to have the most difficult baby ever next. Does it always work like this (1 easy 1 not so easy) or are there people with more than one easy baby?!
She is just such a happy girl, yes she fights naps and doesn't sttn but she's no bother most of the time. Never had any issue b-feeding her, even her delivery was a walk in the park compared to other horror stories I've heard.

So now I'm really afraid to have another fearing I used up all my good luck on this one. Anyone else feel like this?! If I knew they'd all be like M I'd probably have another soon.

I'm sure those with difficult babies this time around are praying for an easy one next time!

  • I am afraid of getting another like LO. Curious to see what 2+s say!

  • I thought Dylan was an easy baby and then I had Lyla. I think it has a lot to do with parenting style on top of experience. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

  • I would say in the grand scheme of things, I have had two easy babies. This one being even easier then the DD1. DD1 was a good night sleeper, but crappy napper, and she was a crank monster she was off of her schedule one little bit. Other then that I can't complain. DD2 is more easy going and go with the flow then DD1, and a better napper - which may mostly be the result of having to be because we are on the go more with DD1.

So, yes, I think it is possible to have two easy babies!

eta: I thought DD1 was a super super easy baby until DD2 came along and is even easier! So now I think back as DD1 being a bit harder, but at the time I thought it was easy...if that makes any sense at all!

  • Things were only difficult with DS1 until we found out he had reflux. He was a few months old when we figured it out. He was always a super happy baby, and once I got him on a good sleep schedule, things were awesome. DS2 was an extremely easy baby, even with RSV. He got it when he was 2 weeks old and took his meds and breathing treatments like a champ. We were in and out of the hospital for months and it never phased him. He even nursed through it. Lexi has been easier than the two of them. I feel so lucky to have not ended up with any high needs babies.

I didn't read before I posted, but I totally agree with this. I get there are some truly high needs babies out there, but the second time you are (usually) more laid back and not second guessing your every decision.

  • Yes both of mine were easy. Owen is easier, but I couldn't complain about Hazel.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
  • Except for naptime, both my kids have been pretty chill babies. There was one week when DD had 5 teeth come in at once, but that was the only bad week.

  • I do/did. They have their challenging moments, but overall are pretty easy kids. I'm kind of happy we're done, I'd hate to tempt fate.

  • I do.  They're definitely different, but I would say that they are/were both easy infants.  And while DS definitely tries my patience at several points each and every day, I would say that he's a pretty good toddler too!  DH and I got pretty lucky!

  • I did not have 2 easy babies but I'm sure it's possible! DD1 has always been very laid back, an excellent sleeper and pretty self sufficient/independent. DD2 is very high maintence, was very colicky and apparently hates sleep.  They already have very different personalities but it keeps me on my toes.

  • DD1 was high maintenance and has continued that way through toddlerhood (although she is very sweet and has a great personality). DD2 is easy and laid back (hope it stays that way). Although she has 2 teeth coming in, so last few weeks have been a little rough...
