How would you like your eggs?

So, before becoming pregnant I always had my eggs over-easy and now I'm not so sure it's safe for me to be eating them that way anymore. I've been eating them over-hard or scrambled. I googled to see if it was safe and I got mixed answers. Do you all eat eggs? How do you like them?

Re: How would you like your eggs?

  • I wish I could eat eggs. Every time I try to cook them, looking at them makes me sick.

  • Honestly I don't give much thought to it. I ate nothing but scrambled eggs for days last week, though.

  • Eggs have not really been my friend during pregnancy, but if I eat them I go with hard-boiled (as a snack) or scrambled with cheese (for breakfast).
  • I eat eggs, and I've read a lot of things about how they're a great source of protein during pregnancy. I'm like you-given my choice, I'll take them over easy or over medium, but now I've been sticking to scrambled or fried.

  • I eat mine over easy, but we get our eggs from my parents' chickens, so they're 100% organic. I would eat them fully cooked if they were store bought eggs.

  • I have only ever eatten scrambled eggs. Something about being able to see the egg yoke wierds me out.

  • Eggs are hit or miss for me now. Sometimes they sound disgusting, but I went through about a week where they sounded amazing. I usually love 'em poached about medium. When I fixed them for myself recently I poached them pretty firm.

  • My OB said you can have eggs cooked however you want as long as they are pasteurized- which she said most eggs you buy in a grocery store are.  She said if you get eggs fresh from a farm then you should cook them all the way.

  • I still have an egg over-medium as part of an egg sandwich everyday for breakfast.  Its delicious and I don't plan to stop.

  • I eat my eggs whatever way sounds tastiest at the moment.  :)

I love eggs, and they are really great for pregnancy . . . so I eat them as often as I can. Plus, they're easy to cook; bonus!

  • Since eggs and dairy are the only protein I can stomach right about now...I eat at least 1-2 eggs per day (over medium) and lots of dairy. My doctor says it's all good...so eat up!
  • my preference is over easy or scrambled. since getting pg, i've mostly had scrambled, but i confess, on a couple of occasions, i've caved and had them over easy (for huevos rancheros).

  • DH loves hard boiled eggs so we tend to have an ongoing supply of hard boiled eggs in the house - which I like to use to make egg salad sandwiches. We both love omelettes with veggies (mine with cheese b/c DH can't have dairy). I'll eat scrambled eggs every now and again. I love over-easy eggs but I've been avoiding them. After reading these posts, I really want one. Maybe I'll do over medium eggs for brunch on Sunday!

This. Sometimes they sound gross, but I've been trying to eat more of them because of the protein. I usually LOVE over easy, but I decided not to chance it -- I scramble a couple of egg whites and one yolk with a little pico, cheese, and top with avocado. Yum. :)

Yup! I thought fertilized too, haha.

I eat my eggs scrambled w cheese, hard boiled, omelette, over hard, as egg salad, or deviled. I'm loving eggs lately! I do miss my usual favorite...over medium.

I've been eating them whichever way they sound best to me in the moment. If we listened to all the things that google says we shouldn't eat, we'd be living on super processed grossness that has no real "food" in it to attract bacteria.

This. Exactly. I mean, if we were to follow every bit of advice out there, we would spend nine months hiding under sterilized lead blankets on oxygen tanks, not able to eat anything, but stressing that we need 700g of protein a day and fifteen servings of fresh vegetables that will surely give our babies three heads with all of the bacteria.

     That said, I can't eat eggs. :-(

When my husband and I were going through struggles with trying to get pregnant he asked me how I want my eggs one day. When I said "fertilized" he lost it. We still laugh about it.
