Beta question....

Hi Guys! This morning I had my blood test and it came back at 286.2 (the ET was two weeks ago) . This seems pretty high right?  Should I ask my doctor to test me again next week??

IVF# 1 with ICSI 05/02/2012 - Husband had surgery 07/13/2012 - Started BCP 07/31/2012 - Stopped BCP 08/02/2012 - Little Friend came and had trand vag echo and blood test 08/03/2012 - started Puregon 250UI a day 08/10/2012 - blood test and transvag echo. Continued with Puregon, added Orgalutron and Menopur 08/12/2012 - did regular meds in morn, Pregnyl trigger shot at 930pm 08/14/2012 - ER with only a shot of anesthetic to my whoha - OUCH -next time i will ask for general. They were only able to get at one ovary because the other is located too close to my intestines. 08/17/2012 - ET of 2 Grade A emryos. Dr said only two really good ones were available and if the others make it to blastocyst stage. 08/27/2012 - No call from doctor so we can assume nothing to freeze. 08/31/2012 - Beta #1 286.2 - I am pregnant!     I'm not an expert since I haven't had my ET yet but from everything I have read they typically have you come back in a couple days after your initial Beta. Having a high number is good but they are also looking for the number to double as you go on. If they didn't tell you to come back in I would definitely call them. GL!

    They didn't say anything about a 2nd beta? I believe most REs do at least 2 betas, so I would call and ask if you are supposed to have another one. Check out Betabase for comparisons.

    Thanks so much! The problem was that I can get my results online through the hospital so I have been going a bit nuts as the doctor has not called me back yet (and I am kind of annoyed with her for other reasons). I am worried that, even though I have one result, she wouldn't have let me know that I def. need another one.  I will ask her about scheduling another one next week (in addition to asking for another prescrip of estogen and progesterone).
