I know a few of you have already taken your LOs out of the country. How long did it take you to get passports?? Anybody have to expedite?
We have a new opportunity to take a vacation in about a month or so and I wonder if thinking about non-US options is even a possibility. Bummed that we can't even go to Canada w/o a passport. ![]()
Re: baby passports
Turn around was pretty darn fast on passports. Seemed like it was 2 weeks without expediting. We applied in mid-Dec for a passport for a trip for early Feb and had it with plenty of time to spare.
Heck, my sister's hubby got a passport last week. He had to go directly to the passport office for super speedy expediting, but he became a citizen on Tuesday and had a passport on Thursday. Today he's in Brazil.
I would go down to the post office and just ask how long is typical right now.

You might want to check my facts on this one, because I am just going on hearsay here, but I have heard that babies can travel between the US and Canada with just a birth certificate IF you are travelling by car, foot or boat. We live close to the border so travel to the US is common among my friends. We went ahead and got her a passport when she was very young just to avoid any hassles. I know that you can rush passports in Canada as soon as next day, at a price. Not sure if that's true there, or how much it might cost though!
Good Luck!
You would have to expedite the passports since it is such a short time away. We went to Europe June 2 and received his passport April 16. We applied for it I think the third week of March.
