FFFC

It's FRIDAY!!!  I leave for my babymoon tomorrow, so let's face it - I'm soooo checked out as far as work goes.

What do you ladies have this week?

Mine is pretty tame.  We're going to St. Thomas, and all the travel books stress how important it is to stay away from the iguanas and not to feed them.  Well, yeah, Frommers?  You don't know my life!  I'm totally bringing extra granola bars for my new green friends, which I have already started to think of names for.

Re: FFFC

  • DH's favorite restaurant closed after last night, so we went out for one last dinner.  I've never told him this, but I don't really care for the place and am not a bit sad we'll never have to eat there again.  I did feel kind of bad when he said it was kind of sad the baby will never get to go there...

Iguanas are riddled with salmonella. And they're mean they like to bite and scratch. A million years ago when I was a vet tech, we handled them with heavy duty gloves. So, I'd stay away.

Iguanas are the only animal that scares the ever-loving sh!t out of me. They make me cry when I see them 'in the wild.' They look like they have hate in their eyes, and their claws make me feel like they are part velociraptor and they are one moment from ripping me to shreds.

  • We're going to visit the inlaws.  I haven't seen and have barely spoken to MIL after their disaster of a last visit.  She wants to take me to lunch and to go shopping for the new baby.  Really, she wants to talk about something.  Per her hateful demeanor the last time I saw her, I have no desire to be around her.  None.  If it were up to me, I'd cut her out of my life all together.  So my FFFC:  I'm already planning "contractions" from all the traveling, so that I can spend as little time with her as possible.

    image
  • I will not be insisting on "required vaccinations" for family and friends who will be around my baby.  That is among the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.  Who am I to tell anyone how to vaccinate themselves?  I understand newborn babies are prone to bacteria/viruses that could make them very sick.  So are old people.  So are puppies and kittens.  And so are us pregnant ladies, for that matter.  Call me an awful mother, I don't care.  I think it's ridiculous.

  • DH has been extremely busy these past 2 weeks and has been getting up earlier for work and is exhausted when he comes home. I have actually been in the mood for sexy time for the past week, but have given him his space so he can go to bed early and rest. Last night I kept him awake till 12:30 cuz I was in the mood and I didn't want to go another night. He is really tired this morning (as am I), but it had to happen Wink

I LOVE YOU, because you just saved me this weekend with that brilliant idea!  I have to share my weekend with some aunts, uncles, and cousins from my dad's side, I don't get along with them/they suck/havent' given two sh!ts about our family for years and then when my dad dies all of a sudden we are the most interesting people(nevermind they invited themselves to spend the weekend with us on the lake) and I have been trying to figure out how I might avoid them as much as possible.

It's like my Grandma used to say, "Well, honey, just get sick and go to bed. They'll give in eventually." And when the baby comes and she decides to camp out on my couch watching Judge Judy all day, I think the baby might be having a growth spurt and need to nurse every thirty minutes!

Pretty sure she is just going to chase them around and throw them some food-

    not handling & licking them.

  • I hate my new haircut. (It's a confession because I don't feel like I can tell anyone IRL.)

I just introduced myself to TUMS (Assorted Berry flavor) and I like them... they taste like candy.

I am with you on the hair frustration: I haven't cut mine or done anything to it in almost a YEAR and I am so unhappy with it. It's just flat and lifeless and all roots and ugh. Also I am addicted to the berry TUMS. They are basically dusty candies.

I rarely cut my hair...maybe once a year. I guess I just feel stupid because I got so pysched up about it all. I did a CP and everyone agreed to go short.  I really liked how it was cut.... I understand it's hair, it's hard to get it back to exactly how I loved it previously...but I absolutely hate it right now. And I cut it so short that I can't even pull it back. I look like a yorkshire terrier or something. I don't know.

  • I get really excited when I hear anything about Hurricane Isaac because that's what we're planning on naming our little nugget, minus the "Hurricane" of course.

My heart seriously does a little jig when I see "ISAAC" on the tv, although I hope the only thing he'll destroy is my vagina and not even that, please God.

Assorted Berry is the best flavor. I'm not really a fan of how they make your mouth kinda dry, but they make the heartburn go away. Really for only like a half hour then I have to eat more, but it says you can have like 26 in a day or something insane, so I'll just deal with it.

My confession is that until probably a month ago, I thought his umbillical cord went from his belly button to my belly button. Seriously, I have no idea why I thought this. And to be fair, I didn't try to convince anyone of this. I just said something about it to DH, and when he told me that that was definitely not the case, I realized how dumb it was and accepted it. I guess I should have paid more attention in health class and I wouldn't have such an embarrassing confession this Friday Embarrassed

Well now I'm pretty upset that I can't lick them.  This is what I'm planning:

When I see them, I'm going to be all

And then I will warn them by saying

And then when they run away from me because I am a big scary human, I will

Hand to God, I have excellent knowledge of human anatomy and I'm still confused that there's no 'pole' behind my belly button that keeps him from crossing to the other side of my body. I don't know what put it in my mind that my belly button is attached to something internally (it should have some purpose, no?), but in the beginning when I felt him moving around I was concerned that the cord would get wrapped around... something inside me. Like I have compartments in there: a right side and a left side. Embarrassed

Also, it freaks me out when I see pictures of babies holding their umbilical cords in there. Like they're going to pull it out. Or squeeze it and stop the flow, like a garden hose.

  • Speaking of belly buttons, I'm terrified that once mine pops out and I have the baby, and my belly "deflates," that it won't be there anymore.  How weird would I look without a belly button.

DH is certain LO will come out rappelling from the umbilical cord.

You should have listened to me, I voted against it! Jk, jk, I'm sure you look fine. My one thing I have to say about having short hair - I cut mine above chin-length in the first trimester - is that when LO is here and wants to yank on it, it won't be as bad to untangle his little fingers from long tresses.

I will also note, I had the TUMS Smoothies and they were amazing. Now I bought the regular TUMS and they taste like chalk.

    My FFFC:

We went shopping today. We decided we wouldn't shop for LO because he has a ton of clothes already. Of course, we ended up buying nothing but clothes for LO to the tune of like 200$. And I don't feel bad about it. Yes to a well-dressed baby.

So weird, because I HATE the taste of Liquid or Chewable meds/vitamins but I CRAVE Red Bull. It was so nice just to drink one. I would usually buy two of them, chug the first one and then "slowly" drink the second.
