3D/4D Ultrasound Places Recs?

I really want to go get a 3d/4d ultrasound done to sneak a peek at my little man. I called the infantsee4d place in Fairfax b/c they have a $99 special and they told me that I would probably need longer than 15 minutes (that is the amount of time you get with the special) to see the baby b/c of his gestational age.

So I guess I have 2 questions:

Have any of you gotten a 3d/4d around 30 weeks? Did you get to see the babies face?

If you have had one, can you recommend a place to go in Northern VA?

I went to Infantsee4D and the couple working there were wonderful. I didn't do the $99 special just because I wanted to spend more time looking at our big boy. We went when I was around 30 weeks and we got to see a lot of his face. We couldn't see any of his privates as he was sitting on them and had it covered, but we got to see a lot of his face and the rest was mostly of his torso on up.

We didn't actually get the 4D done, but I asked the sono tech at my OB's office what she thought. She said that it can be a major waste of money b/c there needs to be a certain amount of amniotic fluid in front on the baby's face in order to get a good picture. I would check to see if the sono place lets you come back several times to make sure you get a good picture or if you get one try for a good picture.

When I went for my big ultrasound at 22 weeks at Washington Radiologic Associates they did 4D imaging as well as the standard as part of my visit. Do you have another ultrasound scheduled from your doctor, you may be able to do it then.

I have a growth ultrasound at 36 weeks, but it is not 4d. One major reason I wanted to go to a facility other than my doctor's office is that you get a cd of the photos. DH & I's family all live in Fl and so they never get to see any of the ultrasound pics, etc. Plus, I am just sentimental would love to have a good shot of him for his baby book. I guess I might have to fork over a little more at the infantsee place to get a longer session. Thanks ladies:)

I went to SIMPLYSONO in woodbridge...it was wonderful. The room where we got our ultrasound done was so amazing and welcoming...we had enough room for my husband, mother, mother-in-law and two kids..and still had ample room..the large TV was so clear the service was wonderful from the front desk to the ultrasound tech. What shocked me the most was you are guaranteed the best pictures..if for some reason your baby is being shy they will bring you back in for another scanning at no extra fee. if i were you i would bring exta money they have the cutest lil gift section, i bought the cutest bear there. i am not too sure but i thought i saw a coupon on here somewhere for their service too. I would totally recommend this place. oh by the way i got my ultrasound done at 31 weeks and the pictures came out great....15 minutes would be just enough time to view your lil one.

Why wouldn't they be able to get the face at 30 weeks? I'm doing the $99 special at 28 weeks and I just want them to try to get her face and that's it.

Deegirl, when I called today the lady told me that sometimes the babies don't cooperate (at any stage) and the further along you are the more cramped the baby may be and it may be harder to get a face shot. She then proceeded to tell me that they usually can get baby to move so they can get a shot, but that the $99 15 min ultrasound may not allow enough time for baby to cooperate ( and you get what you get...if the 15 min is up...sorry about your luck). I kinda felt like she was just trying to up-sell me to the more expensive package thats why I thought I would check with you ladies to see what your experience was.

seems like she is just trying to get you to pay more....wtf...is what i think. i dont know how far you are from simplysono in woodbridge but i would give them a call and see what they say.

I went to Infantsee4d, and she's right...15 minutes isn't going to be long enough if the baby isn't cooperating. We had to spend a lot of time getting DS to move so we could get some decent shots. And yeah, they have to kick you out after the 15 minutes is up b/c they have to get the next person in.

They DID let us come back for a make-up session b/c the guy wasn't happy that we couldn't really see DS's face (he was burying it in the placenta), so that was nice.

All in all, a great experience there and I highly recommend them!

I went to Infantseed as well and had a great experience with them. I think we got the 2nd package which was either 30-45mins. It probably took about 10-15 minutes until we got to see clear pics of Hayden and once he started cooperating we saw the coolest things. He was yawning, sucking his thumb, and even smiling. Yeah it's that clear and when my friends come to the house to see the pics that I have of him in a frame some thought it's the coolest thing and a few thought it was creepy. I printed that pic and took that with me when we went to the hospital when I delivered him.

Ah, okay. Yeah I know sometimes they don't cooperate. I just thought yo meant they might be focusing on trying to get other shots first. All I want is a face shot and gender recheck. I hope my little girl cooperates!

Hi all, Im new to this site and I was just reading some of the forums here. I think someone mentioned Simply Sono earlier on here.They are in Woobridge and I have a couple friends that have gone there and they said that they loved it. I know that they bring you back up to 2 more times for free if you dont get good pictures the first time. Im pretty sure they have really decent prices too. I plan on going there when I get pregnant. Hope that helps!

I went to Baby To Be Images in Columbia, MD. I did the special for $125. The website says its for 15 minutes, but when I was there they took the time since my little man was turned towards my back! My luck ofcourse. So we had to come back for a 2nd visit at no additional cost! That is what I called customer service. The 2nd time, he cooperated a little better. We saw him sucking his thumb! Totally cool!

go check them out, in my opion they have the best value wise packages. Don`t look at the time that comes with the packages, but what you actually receive when you leave the facility. We even received a really nice mommy gift back.
