It seems to me that a lot of women on here are going through a tough time, are uncomfortable, etc. So since this made me smile I thought I would try to make you smile as well ![]()
So the other day at my nephew's 4th birthday, my 10 year old nephew came up to me and asked if he could touch my belly. I said yes, of course. So he puts his hands on my stomach and says "Hi cousin".
And then tells me that he likes my belly and that I look pretty. (i know right, he is the sweetest.) I said thanks! and I gave him a hug. He then looks at me with big, serious blue eyes and says "You know it's gonna hurt, right?"
I lost it. He made me laugh so hard I almost peed myself! He gave me a big smile and went to go play.
Re: cute story :)
Hahhaha. That's adorable! How nice of him to warn you
I asked my 8 year old niece if she wanted to feel my belly and feel the baby move, and she said, "No, I'm fine." Haha
Aww.. how sweet!
We invited my 4 year old niece to swim at our house last week. Her mom (DH's sister) recently had a c-section and apparently told her 4-year-old all about it, in detail. So the little girl comes up to me and says 'Is the dr is going to cut you right there (and draws line across my belly with her finger) to get the baby out?'
Without thinking, I said "I hope not" - which led to her next question.. "Well, then how does he come out?" I just told her that 'I hope he stays in there for a long time'.. and then luckily she got bored and was ready to jump into the pool again.
That's definitely a question that her mommy can answer later
That's an awesome story.
My lo (3 in Nov) knows that I have a doppler to listen to baby. Sometimes he'll ask to listen. This morning though, he got the doppler out (it's an angelsounds), put the headphones on his head and said "mommy, I want to listen to the baby in my tummy". I turned the doppler on and held it to his tummy and he said " oh I can hear baby mommy". After a minute, he handed me the head phones and said "all done". Too cute.
My 4 year old nephew asked me the other day"Te Te (his version of Auntie) how long till the baby comes out?" I told him that it would be a while. Then he told me, "I asked mommy when she is going to get another baby in her belly, but she said hopefully she wouldn't again.... that made me really sad." He was so hurt looking that his mom did want to have another baby, so I said, "It's okay baby you can come play with your cousin after he or she is born.." "Okay Te Te it's not the same but it will have to do."
He was so serious and upset about it all. It was all I could do not to crack a smile about his reaction.
Last night my 3 1/2 year old asked me "how does the baby come out?'' (I didn't want to answer in detail) so I replied that the dr would take him out once he got bigger. He then says "so... the dr will cut your skin off?" (I'm not planning on having a C-section so I was unsure as to how to answer this. I ended up changing the subject!! His questions are getting tough! Lol. He asked me how the baby GOT IN THERE? and he was fine with the response "God wanted you to have a baby!"
OMG that is hilarious! The first part of your story literally made me tear up, then I just burst out laughing! Love it.
My 11 year old nephew, upon seeing my giant outtie belly button, said, "Good Lord, that thing is like a pregnancy on a pregnancy!" Where do they come up with these things??
hahaha that's awesome! I will never try to understand where kids get these thoughts because they are just way too funny!!
