November 2011: after nearly two years of infertility, we are moving on to domestic infant adoption.
February 2012: Matched!
May 2012: Placed with our son!
I don't like DMB. or Coldplay. I know everyone my age is supposed to love both of them, but they just seem so depressing. Give me some upbeat oldies (from the '60s) or country any day, but not something that is going to make me want to ho hug myself in a corner somewhere.

?? I get the gist but what does UO stand for??nbsp; Trying to figure it out.
Unpopular opinion
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF

I am so bad at these, I can never think of one but just wanted to say I totally agree with this! DMB comes to play in our area every year and I feel like every single one of my friends go, it's like this huge rite of passage every summer. I just don't get it personally, but I only like happy music lol, I hate sad songs! It drives my music major DH crazy
My UO is that I wish we hadn't started these threads on this board. On UO days, the same "unpopular" opinions get repeated (typically revolving around food or music) and on FFFC, people end up getting their feelings hurt. Most boards I'm on do the threads, but they get boring after a while.
Married to my best friend 6/5/10
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
Well my unpopular opinion is region-specific, but I'm just not interested in college football. It's a big no-no to not be crazy about our team, but I'm just not that invested in my local university's bravado. I disagree with how they're spending (rapidly rising) the student's tuition and I think it's stupid. I also really hate it when people say they won't let their kids go to college anywhere else. It's like, umm, your children aren't your arms and legs; they're their own people, not extensions of you.
Application approved Dec '11 Mar '12: Homestudy interrupted by change in Uganda requirements - where do we go from here? After searching and searching, back with Uganda but with our homestudy agency's program. Homestudy complete July 19 USCIS I-600A submitted July 20. Biometrics appointments arrived Aug 17; fingerprinted Aug 21; 171H received Sept 25th. On the wait list Oct 1st: #18. By Jan 25th, we're #13! Come home, baby A!
My UO is this: The President does not control the economy. Mitt Romney will not save this country, nor will Barrack Obama. That my friends is up to us. I feel as though many people in this country keep looking for a savior because it's easy to listen and half-heartily believe in them, instead of putting in the hard work to do it themselves.

Did you not see the post earlier in the week asking for opinions on starting the new threads? I am the one that had the idea but certainly didn't want to start anything that everyone wasn't comfortable with, we don't have to continue them as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, I saw it. And obviously I'm not enraged that it was started--I'm participating.

If people aren't into UO and FFFC, maybe we could do something more benign like... posting recipes or craft projects for the domestic ladies among us... random work vents... cute baby/kid pics... etc.
I live in Pittsburgh and think the Steelers, Primanti Bros sandwiches, and 'Burgh sayings like "Yinz" are?in order?overrated, disgusting, and hickish & stupid. So that's my UO.
Political posts do not belong on FB..post one ok..post one everyday and you are blocked from my newsfeed...I don't care that you love Obama..I don't care if you love Romney. I have my opinion and your politcal quotes and postings of the media's half witted spin on things are not going to change my opinion. I like who I like and that is that..it goes deeper than any media article can write.

Waiting since 07/5/2011 for our forever child! Yep we are adopting!

Oh, yes. So much yes. I almost posted the same thing! Political crap on FB is so annoying.

And I went to college in the Pittsburgh area and just wanted to ditto UO That just made my day!

Primanti's really IS nasty. I don't know why it's such a Pittsburgh institution, and it kind of embarrasses me that the food item we've chosen to represent our local cuisine, consists of some tasteless cabbage and greasy fries sogging up an otherwise perfectly decent sandwich.
My UO of the day is that I'm totally over the whole "green" thing. I support sustainable options and all, but I'm sick of hearing green this and green that. Green is a pretty mix of blue and yellow. Not a movement.
Also, and just cause I'm feeling ranty, what's the deal with horrible adjectives in fast food advertising? Your tomatoes are not hand-cut. They are cut with a knife. And the LAST word I want to hear when thinking about indulging in fast food is "plump," for what I think should be obvious reasons.

FWIW, I thought the same thing as kacelle. But I didn't say anything because I don't expect everyone else to skip out on it just because I feel that way... I'll probably participate in the future anyway... I did like how this board was different than the others though.
I liked the idea of a GTKY Friday.
Me: 32, DH: 45... TTC #1 since May 2010

Let's do a GTKY Monday (since some people seem to be enjoying FFFC) and how about "Post Your Pics" Tuesday... people can post pics of their kiddos, crafty stuff, food they've made (with recipe), etc.
Re: Since we said we would do it... UO Thursday.
