So, I just heard that there are 3 confirmed cases, and 4 suspected cases of Swine Flue H3N2 in my county since our county fair last week. Guess where Tyler and I spent over 45 min on Sunday...in the swine barn at the fair!
He had his 12 mo shots yesterday afternoon, but didn't eat good yesterday morning or noon. He didn't eat good this morning or noon either, and had a slight fever (100.3*) so I gave him tylenol and he was much better. My grandma (babysitter) said he didn't feel warm this afternoon. I'm sure it was just a reaction from the shots, but boy, am I nervous now!
Here's info on the new swine flu which is not supposed to be as bad as H1N1 was...thank god!
Re: Swine Flu
This is actually a strain that was contracted from a pig. The one in my county is the H3N2v virus.
"Swine flu viruses do not normally infect humans. However, sporadic human infections with swine influenza viruses have occurred. When this happens, these viruses are called ?variant viruses.? They also can be denoted by adding the letter ?v? to the end of the virus subtype designation. Human infections with H1N1v, H3N2v and H1N2v viruses have been detected in the United States." from the CDC website.

But, I will agree with you that he most likely had a fever due to shots.
Our county fair (and the county fair north of us) had a few of the same cases of swine flu.
Im sure your guy is just having vaccine reactions.
Bizarre.
