Can symptoms come and go?

Today I'm 7w 2d and during my ultrasound the other day my RE confirmed we have twins, with heart rates of 121 and 119; however, they measured 6w4d and 6w2d. He said to not worry about the size because it was "within range," but since then my breasts no longer feel tender, I'm not as fatigued and my face has cleared up. Is it norma for these symptoms to come and go? I feel "too normal" if that makes any sense. We've had six miscarries, none going longer than 10 weeks, and this was our first IVF, so we're just anxious to make sure these little guys work.

Guidance to help ease my nerves would be great. Thanks!!

Re: Can symptoms come and go?

  • Tender breasts and acne were on and off for me during the first trimester. I would think it's normal to have symptoms appear and disappear. Best wishes for your pregnancy, and congrats on the twins! :)

  • Symptoms can absolutely come and go! I can't tell you how many times I freaked out because the symptoms had temporarily disappeared..... and all was fine.

I am so sorry for your previous losses and  wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

  • Bless your heart!  You've been through so much!  Congratulations on your big news!  My symptoms came and went during the first trimester. By 8 or so weeks my breasts were not tender anymore and my acne was gone.  I kept waiting for morning sickness and that never came at all!!  I was so very lucky in that regard.

I felt very normal and until I could hear them on the doppler I wondered every single day if I was still pregnant or not.  It was maddening!  I think it is fine that you feel "normal."  Just enjoy it while it lasts.

Also, I had IVF as well and my baby B lagged behind baby A in growth by 5 days from the very beginning.  She was even born a little smaller.  Try your best just to think good, positive thoughts and congrats again on your double blessing!!

Holy siggy, Batman!!  I think you have the biggest siggy I've ever seen on TB!  You deserve some kind of reward or something.

  • Come and go all the time. My boys measured 6w4d @ 121bpm and 6w2d @ 120bpm at their first successful scan, and they're still kickin' around in there just fine :)

  • There were days I didn't feel pregnant at all.  Like nothing.  No nausea, no sore boobs ( gawd i miss that), no dizzyness nothing.  All I can say is enjoy it while you can.  I would love a day a few hours.. where my nipples don't feel like I am on fire.  I hope the little ones stick!

  • Congrats on your two babes!  Looks like we are expecting only a few days apart!  I too have had multiple losses, so I don't have much experience about what 'normal' is, so I just wanted to wish you a happy and healthy nine months.  Sending positive thoughts your way for sticky babies.
