Thinking about having my IUD removed

Hey ladies, long time no post! I knew I would get some good feedback from you all on this though... so here I am! Coming out of lurking.

I had my IUD put in 6 weeks PP. For pretty much the entire time I have had issues that until now I didn't really put together that they could be a result of my IUD.

Cramping (off and on)

Discharge (sorry, gross I know)

Constant Bloating

Hormonal like woah.

So I am curious if others had similar experiences. I am also curious to hear about having an IUD out. Was it a positive choice for you?? What has your IUD experience been like?

Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: Thinking about having my IUD removed

  • I have an IUD and every month, I get all of your symptoms for about a week/week and a half but without the period.  It's annoying, but it's the best bc option for us right now.

  • I had Mirena, and I can honestly say, that getting it out was like night and day for me.  I had it for 18 months, and it was awful for pretty much the entire time.  I had major cramping, bloating, headaches and was even starting to get depressed because it felt like pms that never went away.   When dh and I made the decision to be one and done,  I had the darn thing taken out while having my tubes tied.

    Best decision I ever made.

  • I really hope it's the same for me, I need some relief!
  • I had Mirena for almost two years and did not have any problems at all.  However, one of my co-workers had it taken out when she suspected that it was causing some symptoms of depression...all of her symptoms went away after removal.
