cravings

Does anyone have some absurd cravings? I've never experienced such weird combinations and eaten such different foods. I'm really craving anything carb wise like pasta, bagels, sandwiches etc. Came out of the grocery the other day with different kinds of mac n cheese flavors haha! I don't want to gain too much weight though... this is my first pregnancy! Does anyone have good healthy snack ideas that keep them satisfied and full during a work day? Or healthy recipes? Help!

  • Until yesterday, I was super nauseous all the time. Smoothies were my go-to food because I could get my calcium/protein in by using greek yogurt, but the fruit disguised the texture/smell of the yogurt (I usually love yogurt - just not right now!). I made a whole blender full of smoothie and just sipped on it all day. Yesterday, I started craving Mexican and it won't go away. I tried to get it out of my system with some Chipotle last night, but I still want more.

  • I've had so many food aversions, so all I crave now is carbs, carbs and more carbs! It's so annoying especially since I was such a healthy low carb eater before. 
  • I haven't had any strange cravings, but I have had some cravings. For example chocolate milk. I craved that so bad I thought I would die if I didn't drink it before I even found out I was pregnant. I usually drink quite a bit of milk and eat other dairy products but I guess it isn't quite enough at this point!

     Yogurt has been the only thing to really turn my stomach so far, but it was only one day when it happened. 

     Smoothies are great snacks, you can put lots of healthy things in them, and maybe even disguise foods you are having aversions too. 

    I have also bought things like raisins, nuts, lots of veggies and fruits, cheese, etc. Trying to get in lots of nutrients without a lot of carbs and sugars.

    Yes, I was very healthy and even was a diet before I knew I was pregnant, now I'm like ugh, salads... and I use to eat 2 a day. I always ate egg whites and yogurt for breakfast and a small lunch and a decent dinner. but now I want bacon and bagels! haha. I need some ideas of snacks that give you energy and fill you up!

  • Whole wheat ritz crackers with nutella :) Not the healthiest, but a few of those curb my carb cravings and keeps me full for awhile :)

  • I just want White Castle.  I had a really strange craving last night, after smelling some vinegar in our laundry room, for a salad with this special dressing we only get when we're in MI.  It sucked because we didn't have any lettuce.  :(

    My healthy go to snack during the day is cheese and grapes or greek yogurt and a granola bar.   I try to snack on a protein and carb.  I would eat carbs all day if I could.

  • CHEESE FRIES!  How's that for an unhealthy craving?  Well cheese, of all types, has been my craving for the whole pregnancy.  But then the cheese fry craving kicked in about 2 weeks ago, I kept ignoring it until today when I just had to give into the craving.  And of course I had a hot dog with it, which is not exactly a pregnancy friendly food.  I ended up having them grill the hotdog for a long time to make sure it was really hot, that helped my guilt over the hotdog for the most part.
