Would you take her to the doctor??

DD wont eat, she is very low key and keeps crying. She woke up twice last night crying. Which is not like her, she hasn't woke up during the night since she was 12 or 13 months old. Both times she woke she was sweaty and had the shakes. I think she just has a bug. DH wants her to go in though.

    Sounds like night terrors. But there's certainly no harm in taking her in. Peace of mind is invaluable.

    Sweaty with the shakes makes me think she has a fever - did you check her temp?

    Unless she is having trouble breathing or a super high fever, if it was me, I'd wait at least another day.

    I'd say call your doctor's nurse.  They'll tell you if she needs to come in or if you can/should wait for a few days.  In my experience, they say to give it a few days to see if she improves.  If she makes a drastic turn for the worse, take her in.

    This is going to sound bad... but if I was concerned about my DS's health (he is also 2), my husband and I would turn him over and do an anal temp whether he liked it or not.   I would never hold him down too hard, but you can restrain your child in a safe and humane manner IMO.   the reason I go with anal temps is that the good ones only take 5-10 seconds max to read and are most accurate.

    Between you and your husband-- there is no way that is it is really impossible to get a temp.

    I would, but I would call them to ask if it's necessary to bring her in.

    I actually went and purchased a very nice thermometer that I place on her forehead for about 5 seconds, the best thing ever and so worth the $40.00!!!
